Nioh 3 Interactive Maps & Completion Hub

Nioh 3 interactive map — MapMaster's complete 100% guide to Team Ninja's open-world Samurai Soulslike, covering all 1,009 collectible locations across four historical eras, the Eternal Rift hub, and both Edo mission maps.

Released February 6, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC, Nioh 3 is the first entry in the series to go fully open-world, departing from the linear mission-based design of its predecessors and marking all collectibles on the in-game map — making MapMaster's interactive resource more powerful than ever before.

What is Nioh 3?

Nioh 3 introduces a dual-style combat system that allows players to seamlessly switch between Samurai and Ninja techniques.

With refined mechanics, new weapons, and deeper customization, it expands the series' legacy while staying true to its intense and strategic gameplay roots.

The Samurai style delivers methodical, powerful attacks — including the new Caestus fist weapon for brutal close-quarters combat. The Ninja style prioritises speed, evasion, and stealth assassination via a one-handed Katana. Switching between them mid-combat is the core mechanical addition that defines this entry.

The story begins in Genna 8, 1622 CE — Edo Castle on the brink of Tokugawa Takechiyo's appointment as the next Shogun.

When his younger brother Kunimatsu falls to a sinister force and leads a yokai assault against the succession, Takechiyo's guardian spirit Kusanagi unlocks the power to transcend time — pulling him across four eras of Japanese history to confront the darkness at its source.

The Biggest Change: Full Open World

Nioh 3 is Team Ninja's first foray into an open world setting — a genuine structural shift for the franchise.

The four main regions are fully explorable open-world maps spanning radically different historical periods: Warring States (1572 CE), Heian (1190 CE), Antiquity (247 CE), and Bakumatsu (1864 CE).

The Eternal Rift serves as the hub connecting all eras, and two additional mission-based maps — Return to Edo (1622 CE) and Final Battle of Edo (1622 CE) — conclude the story. MapMaster has interactive maps for all seven.

1,009 Collectibles, Zero Missables

Nioh 3 contains 1,009 collectible locations, of which 460 are needed for trophies and achievements. Nothing is missable — all areas remain fully explorable after the story ends. You can complete the main story and return to clean up every region at your own pace.

Clearing regions to 100% is highly recommended, regardless — reaching Exploration Level 2 gives permanent Attack and Defense increases.

Kodamas give you more Elixirs at Shrines, making subsequent boss fights considerably more forgiving. Chijiko and Kodama both emit an audible sound when you're close — turn your volume up in dense areas.

Why Collecting Everything Actually Matters

Unlike many open-world games where collectibles are cosmetic padding, Nioh 3's collectibles give useful rewards that make you directly stronger — especially Kodama at Six Jizo Statues, which activate passive buffs at Shrines and increase the number of Elixirs you replenish when respawning.

With 150+ hours needed for full completion, collectibles are structural progression — not an afterthought.

Smithing Texts unlock weapon and armour blueprints at the forge. Samurai's Locks and Ninja's Locks raise combat proficiency for each style. Soul Cores expand your Yokai power library.

Warrior's Texts, Samurai's Texts, Ninja's Texts, and Secret Skill Texts unlock new active abilities.

Yokai Teardrops, Bodhisattva Statues, Hot Springs, Scampusses, Spirit Veins, and Nurikabe walls all have individual pinned guides — as do Bosses, Elite Enemies, Enemy Bases, Lesser Crucibles, Crucible Spikes, Crucible Wraiths, Masters, Sudama Merchants, NPCs, Myths, Valuables, Keys, Mission Items, Craft Guides, Handbooks, Main Missions, Sub Missions, and the Trophy guide covering every PlayStation and Steam achievement.

DLC: Hell Rising and Bloody Insurrection

The Season Pass includes two upcoming story DLCs — Hell Rising and Bloody Insurrection — each adding new stories, enemies, yokai, boss characters, and equipment.

MapMaster's maps will expand to cover both DLCs as they release. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes an Infernal Weapons Set and the Kodama Netsuke Charm cosmetic accessory from launch.
