Catching these "fat cats" is one of the most reliable methods for securing the rare items needed to fuel your protagonist's growth across the world. Mastering the "Chase" is essential for any player looking to maximize their loot efficiency and reach 100% regional completion.
Unlike previous entries, interacting with a Scampuss in Nioh 3 initiates a platforming challenge. To claim your reward, you must stay on their tail through a specific loop:
- Find a Scampuss hidden in the environment and interact with it.
- The Scampuss will bolt, leading you through complex platforming sections or hidden shortcuts. Pay close attention to their coat-color patterns, as these dictate their movement logic and the difficulty of the environmental obstacles they’ll force you to navigate.
- Once the chase ends at their resting spot, pet the Scampuss again to receive high-value loot, including Yokai Teardrops, Scampuss Furballs, Samurai's Locks, or Ninja's Locks.
Beyond the immediate items, finding Scampuss is a pillar of the Exploration Level system. Every successful chase contributes to your regional standing:
- Interacting with these felines—alongside Kodama and the bell-ringing Chijiko—is the fastest way to hit high exploration tiers.
