Nioh 3: Spirit Vein Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Exploring the full maps in Nioh 3 can be done only if you know where to find and how to access all Spirit Veins. These supernatural traversal points serve as the ultimate gatekeepers to the game's most secluded peaks, isolated islands, and high-altitude treasure rooms. Recognized by the distinct, flickering motes of light dancing in the air, Spirit Veins are the only way to bypass environmental barriers and reach the gear that defines a high-tier build.

Because these paths are often tied to specific powers, finding a Vein is only half the battle; the true challenge lies in having the right spirit to bridge the gap.

Spirit Veins function as a dynamic, gated progression system. To fully clear a region, you must understand how your Guardian Spirits interact with these ley lines:

  • Not all spirits are created equal. Different Spirit Veins require specific elemental or spiritual affinities to activate. For instance, two prominent Veins within the Eternal Rift hub remain dormant until you secure compatible spirits later in the campaign.
  • Traversal is often blocked by the Yokai Realm's influence. Purifying a Lesser Crucible or shattering a nearby Crucible Spike is frequently the only way to "prime" a Spirit Vein for use. Clearing this corruption enhances your spirit's resonance, allowing you to reach previously unreachable Valuable Chests.
  • Every Spirit Vein you activate provides a massive boost to your regional Exploration Level. Reaching these tiers is the only way to earn permanent base stat increases and unlock the Area Info required to pinpoint Kodama, Hot Springs, and Chijiko on your world map.

Many Spirit Veins are designed to encourage backtracking. As you unlock legendary spirits in the Heian and Bakumatsu eras, you'll find that returning to early-game provinces reveals entirely new sub-sections of the map. These "hidden-in-plain-sight" paths often lead to the game's most powerful Smithing Texts and Handbooks.

To prevent you from staring at a ledge you can't reach, our amazing team has meticulously documented every Spirit Vein location on our complete Nioh 3 Interactive Maps. Use the links in the table below to verify your paths in Japan’s shifting eras.
