Every time you clear an Enemy Base in Nioh 3, the area changes — a hostile Yokai-infested zone becomes quieter, your compass gains sharper region data, and a reward chest unlocks that was sealed while enemies still stood.
With 26 Enemy Bases spread across Warring States, Heian, and Bakumatsu, clearing all of them earns the Total Control Silver trophy and represents one of the most impactful things you can do for your Exploration Level outside of boss fights.
Every base is included with its exact enemy count and any Myth requirements in the guide below, and on our interactive maps, which you can access via the Nioh 3 interactive guide hub.
Two trophies track Enemy Base progress.
Nothing is missable — bases remain clearable after the story ends, and any Myth can be replayed through the Battle Scroll at Shrines.
The enemy count for each base appears as a tracker at the top of your UI when you enter the area, counting down as you eliminate enemies. Enemy Bases contain anywhere from 5 enemies (Kyoto Imperial Palace) to 13 (Lake Sanaru).
Clearing a base unlocks three things simultaneously:
Reward chests typically contain Samurai's or Ninja's Locks and occasionally a Smithing Text. Some bases also have a Kodama hidden within the base perimeter — confirmed in several checklist entries.
Reaching Exploration Level 2 from cumulative base clears and collectibles gives a permanent Attack and Defense increase for that region, and Level 4 auto-marks all remaining collectibles on your map.
Standard Enemy Bases pit you against open-field Yokai or human enemies. Several Bakumatsu bases are set within Dark Realm zones — the surrounding area applies Life Corrosion on each hit, temporarily reducing your maximum health the longer you fight inside.
The two Shirakawa bases and the Kyoto Imperial Palace base are all Dark Realm encounters. The Mikatagahara base in Warring States includes a Crucible Wraith as one of its six enemies, flagged explicitly in the checklist.
Five bases only become accessible — or only exist — under specific Myth or mission conditions:
All 26 Enemy Base locations can be discovered on the Warring States area map, Heian interactive map, and Bakumatsu map guide, with enemy counts, Dark Realm flags, and Myth requirements.
