Nioh 3: Chijiko Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 43 Chijiko in Nioh 3 — floating, bell-like Yokai hidden across the open world in hard-to-reach areas. Finding all of them unlocks the Eagle-Eyed Silver trophy and achievement, and each one you collect counts as two Valuables because they always drop a Samurai or Ninja Lock and a Transformed Art.

None are missable — all areas remain open after the story ends. Every Chijiko is marked with its exact position and optimal shooting spot on the Nioh 3 interactive maps, making MapMaster the fastest route to Exploration Level 4 in every province.

What Are Chijiko in Nioh 3?

Chijiko are a new type of friendly spirit shaped like bells that fly around in the air. They sound like bells, too, which is the best way of knowing when you're near one.

They look like white and red floating lanterns and drift slowly through the air above cliffs, over rivers, behind castle walls, and beneath bridges.

They cannot be interacted with on the ground — they must first be brought down by a ranged hit.

Two-Step Collection: Shoot, Then Pet

Collecting a Chijiko is always a two-step process:

  • Shoot it down with a ranged weapon — Bow, Rifle, or Hand Cannon all work. Chijiko usually moves around but stops for a few seconds, giving you ample time to adjust your shot. Once hit, the Chijiko descends — after being shot, it will teleport to you.
  • Pet it to register the collection. This is what triggers the reward and increases your trophy counter.

If you're struggling to line up a shot, check each entry's pinned shooting position in the guide— many require standing at a specific ledge, climbing a roof, or looking through a gap in a wall before the Chijiko even comes into view.

What Each Chijiko Gives You

Every Chijiko gives a Samurai or Ninja Lock (a Skill Point for either combat style) and a Transformed Art (a new attack). These are direct, permanent character progression upgrades — not cosmetics.

Collecting all 43 across a region also contributes to your regional Exploration Level, unlocking permanent stat bonuses at Level 2 and revealing hidden Enemy Bases, Myths, and Shrines on your compass as you push higher.

Finding Them: Audio, Map, and Elevation

Three tools help you track down Chijiko without a guide. The bell sound is directional and grows louder as you approach — turn your volume up in dense areas.

Your compass shows an up/down arrow when a collectible is above or below you, which matters significantly for Chijiko positioned on canyon floors or high peaks.

Finally, after increasing your Exploration Level high enough in a region, Chijiko are marked on the map automatically — at Exploration Level 4 in any sub-region, all remaining collectibles, including Chijiko, appear on your map.

All 43 Chijiko Locations by Era

Warring States is by far the densest era with 21 Chijiko across its 11 sub-regions. Heian has 9.

Bakumatsu rounds out the remaining 13. No Chijiko appear in Antiquity or the Edo mission maps — they are exclusively open-world collectibles.

All 43 locations are fully documented on the Warring States interactive map, Heian area map, and Bakumatsu map guide, with exact shooting positions outlined below.
