To get 100% completion over the three eras of Nioh 3, you must look beyond the primary conflict and hunt down all Sub Missions. While Main Missions establish the narrative's foundation, Sub Missions act as the specialized training grounds where you secure the game's most essential upgrades.


These encounters are a great source for Ninja’s and Samurai’s Locks, and the only way to obtain high-tier Secret Skill Texts that transform your protagonist into a true force of nature. Unlike the static mission lists of previous entries, Nioh 3’s side content is woven into the world itself, requiring a keen eye for detail to uncover every hidden request.


Completing every Sub Mission is a mandatory requirement for any player aiming for the platinum trophy and maximum character power. These missions often feature specialized Elite Enemies and unique Boss variants that drop the rare materials needed by the Fox-masked Blacksmith for endgame crafting.


Most Sub Missions can be accessed via the Battle Scroll at the Shrines. Because the triggering conditions for side missions can be complex, missing one is easy. Tip: If you struggle with this sub-mission, consider fighting the bosses later, after you increase your level, and they will become a lot easier as their levels don't scale.
