Silent Hill f: Chocolate Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Chocolate is one of Silent Hill f's most tactically specific consumables — a Sanity item with a unique Focus protection effect that separates it from other recovery options in Hinako's inventory.

Every Chocolate location across Ebisugaoka and its surrounding areas is tracked on the Silent Hill f interactive maps, with spawn triggers noted for the six time-gated pickups that only appear after specific story events.

Note: This guide covers base-game Chocolate only. NG+ and NG++ locations are tracked separately.

What Chocolate Does in Silent Hill f

Chocolate serves two purposes in Ebisugaoka. As a consumable, it slightly restores Hinako's Sanity and — critically — temporarily prevents Sanity drain while using Focus.

As an offering at any Hokora shrine, it is worth 80 Faith, making it one of the more Faith-efficient food items in the game.

Two Uses: Sanity and Faith

Sanity restoration — Chocolate provides modest Sanity recovery, placing it below Ramune and Divine Waters in healing power but above Arare in its overall utility. On Story difficulty, visiting a Hokora restores Sanity freely — Chocolate's value there is primarily as a mid-encounter stabiliser between shrine visits.

On harder action settings, where shrine restoration costs Faith and Sanity deplete faster, Chocolate becomes a more deliberate resource to manage.

Faith offering — at 80 Faith per Chocolate, enshrining it at a Hokora is a reasonable conversion when healing isn't immediately needed. Compare that figure against other consumable items when deciding whether to use Chocolate in the field or convert it to Faith for Omamori draws and stat upgrades via Offerings.

The Focus Protection Mechanic

The most distinctive property of Chocolate is its temporary suppression of Sanity drain during Focus use. Normally, activating Focus — Hinako's concentration ability used for enhanced attacks and interactions — depletes Sanity with each use.

Chocolate creates a brief window where Focus can be used without that drain occurring. This makes it particularly valuable before encounters where Focus is essential, but Sanity is already low.

It pairs naturally with Higashi, which manages Stamina independently — running both before a demanding fight covers the two resources Focus consumption draws from simultaneously.

Spawn-Triggered Chocolates: Six Time-Gated Locations

Six of the 16 Chocolates in this guide only materialise in the world after reaching specific areas or story milestones:

  • After returning from Shrine Path — one Chocolate spawns in the corner of a truck in Ebisugaoka.
  • After returning from the Corridors — one Chocolate spawns on the cabinet in the kitchen of a specific house in Ebisugaoka.
  • After returning from the Main Hall — two Chocolates spawn in Ebisugaoka: one in the basket of a bike by a house wall, one on a bench in front of a house.
  • After returning from the Dark Shrine (second Main Hall visit) — two more Chocolates spawn in Ebisugaoka: one on a bench in front of an open store, one by the gate stairs.

Every trigger condition is documented in the relevant guide entry with the exact spawn point noted.

All Chocolate Locations in Silent Hill f

All 16 Chocolates are concentrated in Ebisugaoka (11 entries spanning clearings, rice fields, courtyards, and residential areas), Shimizu Residence (2), and Ebisugaoka Middle School (1).

Unlike Bandages and Arare, no Chocolates appear in the Main Hall, Worship Hall, Treasure Hall,

Corridors, or Shrine Path as collectibles — the three locations above cover the full distribution.
