Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Figurehead Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Figureheads in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are the decorative carved figures mounted on the bow of the Jackdaw — one of five cosmetic slots that define the ship's visual identity alongside Sail Sets, Hull Trim, Ship Wheel, and Crew Attire.

Equipping any non-default Figurehead contributes to the "Dressing Overall" (Bronze) trophy. Figurehead locations are fully available for tracking on our complete AC Black Flag Resynced interactive maps.

How to Equip and Change Figureheads

Figureheads are changed in one of two places: interact with the model ship on the table in the Captain's Quarters below deck while at sea, or speak to any Harbourmaster and press R2 to switch to the Appearance tab.

Both access the same five cosmetic slots — no docking required for the Captain's Quarters method.

Design Plans work differently from direct Figureheads. When a Buried Treasure Chest rewards a Design Plan — such as the Queen Anne's Figurehead Design Plan — the plan is added to the Codex but the Figurehead itself is not immediately equipped.

The Design Plan must be redeemed at any Harbourmaster's Shop menu to unlock the Figurehead for use. This step is easily missed: if a Design Plan reward didn't appear to do anything, check the Harbourmaster's Appearance shop.

Acquiring Figureheads: Four Sources

Buried Treasure Chests — the most accessible non-default Figurehead source. Two confirmed Design Plans from buried chests:

  • The Queen Anne's Figurehead Design Plan is inside the Havana Buried Treasure Chest — unlocked by first collecting the Havana Treasure Map (found at Havana coordinates 205, 600 — inside the Havana Warehouse). The buried chest sits next to a campfire at the base of Havana's city wall and rewards the Design Plan alongside 3,000 Reales.

  • The Serpent Figurehead Design Plan comes from the Abaco Island Treasure Map solution — the buried chest at Salt Lagoon (coordinates 719, 607), rewarding the Design Plan alongside 3,000 Reales.

Legendary Ships — defeating each of the 4 Legendary Ships scattered across the Caribbean Sea earns exclusive cosmetic rewards including Figureheads that cannot be obtained any other way. Legendary Ship cosmetics are permanent proof of defeating the hardest encounters in the game.

Art Lover Side Quest — completing the Art Pieces quest with Bernard Woodhouse at the 25 Art Pieces milestone rewards the Aquila Figurehead (alongside the Aquila's Sails and Wheel — all referencing the famous AC3 frigate).

Harbourmaster Shop — additional Figureheads for purchase become available as the Great Inagua Harbourmaster building is upgraded. Upgrading the Harbourmaster to higher levels unlocks increasingly rare cosmetic options, including Figureheads not available elsewhere.

Deluxe Edition — the Bold-as-Gold Figurehead (part of the Master Assassin Naval Pack) is available from game start on Cape Bonavista for Deluxe Edition owners and purchasable separately for $9.99.
