Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Ship Wheel Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Ship Wheels are the Jackdaw's helm designs — one of five cosmetic slots defining the ship's visual identity on deck.

Equipping any non-default Ship Wheel contributes to the "Dressing Overall" (Bronze) trophy. All Ship Wheel locations are documented on our AC Resynced interactive maps.

Where to Equip Ship Wheels

Ship Wheels are changed from two locations: the model ship in the Captain's Cabin below deck at sea, or the Appearance tab at any Harbourmaster when docked.

Both give access to all five cosmetic slots simultaneously: Ship Wheel, Figurehead, Hull Trim, Sail Set, and Crew Attire.

Dressing Overall: The Cheapest Qualifying Wheel

"Dressing Overall" (Bronze) — equip a non-default cosmetic in all five Jackdaw vanity slots. For the Ship Wheel slot, the Gilded Wheel (2,200 Reales + 140 Metal) is the most affordable qualifying option, available via story progression through Nassau.

Metal drops consistently from boarded ships — 140 Metal accumulates naturally well before the trophy is in reach.

Early Ship Wheels

• The Jackdaw's Wheel — the default helm design, unlocked for free alongside the Jackdaw at Salt Key Bank during "Prizes and Plunder."

• Wheel of Doom — Deluxe Edition / Master Assassin Naval Pack, available from game start at Cape Bonavista. Equippable after reaching Salt Key Bank via story progression. Also purchasable separately for $9.99.

• Gilded Wheel (Rare, 2,200 Reales + 140 Metal) — dark brown wood with inlaid rubies. Available from any Harbourmaster after story progression reaches Nassau. The recommended first Ship Wheel purchase for the Dressing Overall trophy.

• Kraken Wheel (Rare, 3,000 Reales + 200 Metal) — themed around the legendary Kraken feared across the pirate Caribbean. Available from any Harbourmaster after Nassau story progression.

• Ivory Wheel (Legendary, Ivory Wheel Design Plan + 4,200 Reales + 300 Metal) — constructed entirely from ivory. The Design Plan must be acquired before the wheel can be purchased at the Harbourmaster — the same system as the Hull Trim Gilded Hull, and the Figurehead Design Plans. Available via story progression through Havana.

Exclusive Ship Wheels: Legendary Ships and Art Lover

Legendary Ship Wheels — defeating each of the four Legendary Ships in the Caribbean Sea rewards an exclusive set of Jackdaw cosmetics including a unique Ship Wheel, Figurehead, Hull Trim, and Sail Set per ship.

These are permanent rewards that cannot be earned any other way. Legendary Ships are revealed on the map only after capturing the Fort in each region — destroy all 11 Forts first.

Note: the northeast corner fight is a duo battle against two Legendary Ships simultaneously. All four fights respawn after a cooldown period, allowing a rematch at any time.

Aquila's Wheel — awarded at the 25 Art Pieces milestone of the Art Lover side quest with Bernard Woodhouse at Great Inagua, alongside the Aquila's Sail Set and Aquila Figurehead — three cosmetics referencing the Aquila frigate from Assassin's Creed III. This wheel is confirmed from the Art Piece guide.
