Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Hull Trim Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
The Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Hull Trim is the painted design along the exterior hull of the Jackdaw — one of five cosmetic slots that define the ship's visual identity without affecting any combat stats.
Equipping any non-default Hull Trim contributes to the "Dressing Overall" (Bronze) trophy. Hull Trim locations have been added to our interactive Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced maps.
Where to Equip Hull Trims
Hull Trims are changed from two locations. The model ship on the table in the Captain's Cabin (below the ship's wheel on the Jackdaw) opens the full cosmetics menu at sea — no docking required.
Alternatively, any Harbourmaster provides the same cosmetics interface when the Jackdaw is docked at a friendly port.
Both access the same five cosmetic slots: Hull Trim, Figurehead, Sail Set, Ship Wheel, and Crew Attire.
Dressing Overall: The Easiest Hull Trim Route
"Dressing Overall" (Bronze) — equip a non-default cosmetic in each of the Jackdaw's five vanity slots.
For the Hull Trim slot, the Pirate Hunter Hull is the fastest qualifying option: 1,800 Reales + 500 Wood at any Harbourmaster, available once story progression reaches Nassau.
Wood is looted consistently from boarded ships — 500 is easily accumulated well before Nassau is reached.
Most Accessible Hull Trims
- The Jackdaw's Hull — the default hull, free and unlocked when Edward takes command of the Jackdaw at Salt Key Bank. No action is needed to equip it.
- Buried Treasure Hull Trim — part of the Master Assassin Naval Pack included with the Deluxe Edition or purchasable separately for $9.99. Equippable after story progression reaches Salt Key Bank.
- Pirate Hunter Hull (Rare) — purchased at any Harbourmaster for 1,800 Reales + 500 Wood. Becomes available via story progression through Nassau—the recommended first purchase for the Dressing Overall trophy.
- Gilded Hull (Legendary) — a gilt-edged livery in royal colours. Requires the Gilded Hull Design Plan (acquired separately — same system as Figurehead Design Plans) then purchased at any Harbourmaster for 3,200 Reales + 800 Wood. Becomes available via story progression.
Legendary Ship Hull Trims
Defeating each of the 4 Legendary Ships scattered across the Caribbean Sea earns a matching set of exclusive Jackdaw cosmetics — including a unique Hull Trim for each ship — that cannot be obtained any other way.
These are permanent trophies from the game's hardest naval encounters and will be confirmed in this guide as their individual Legendary Ship coordinates are mapped.
Additional Hull Trims unlock through the Great Inagua Harbourmaster at Level 3 and through DLC character packs, including the Dragon Storm, Hellfire, and Sea Serpent packs.
