Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Spell Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, magic is a devastating extension of martial combat.

There are 40 Spells to find across all regions of Shu — from simple elemental projectiles to reality-warping boss Echoes — and all 40 are documented with their exact locations, Skyborn Might costs, and acquisition conditions across the 50 original charts in MapMaster's Wuchang: Fallen Feathers map collection.

No trophy requires finding all 40, but missing NPC-choice-gated spells can permanently lock out build-defining options for the rest of a playthrough.

Three Spell Types and How They Scale

Every Spell in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers belongs to one of three types, each with distinct scaling and purpose:

  • Magic — scales with the Magic Power stat. Covers the majority of offensive spells including elemental projectiles (Thunderstorm, Infernal Flames, Darkfrost Flames), AoE blasts (Echo of Ai Nengqi, Echo of Liu Cheng'en), and the water/ice boss Echoes. Pairs with Benedictions and Jade Pendants that boost Magic damage.

  • Feathering — scales with Feathering/Corruption attack stats. Includes the most powerful damage-over-time effects and many of the later-game boss Echoes (Echo of Fang Ling, Echo of Huang Yan, Echo of Lu Bingzhang). Corruption-focused builds find these especially potent.

  • Others — utility spells that don't deal damage: Ethereal Form (invincibility), Divine Ward (damage reduction), Divine Blessing (HP recovery over time), Echo of Bo Magus (damage-absorbing barrier). These define defensive and hybrid builds.

How Skyborn Might Works

Unlike a regenerating mana bar, Skyborn Might is an aggressive resource — it builds through combat and depletes with spells. Four Spells can be equipped at one time. Generating Skyborn Might requires:

  • Landing light and heavy weapon attacks
  • Executing Perfect Parries or well-timed Dodges for larger surges
  • Feather Pearls or Spirit Incense for emergency refills

Spells are equipped and managed at any Shrine — loadouts can be swapped freely without cost between encounters.

The Alacrity Mechanic

Certain Spells feature the Alacrity trait in their description. When hit while casting an Alacrity spell, Wuchang automatically dodges the first incoming strike — effectively turning a vulnerable cast window into a built-in counter.

With the Alacrity node unlocked in the Impetus Repository and Madness above 50%, Alacrity spells also refund 1 Skyborn Might on trigger. Spells with Alacrity include Burning Flames, Echo of Lu Bingzhang, Cinder Incantation, Plume Vortex, and Echo of Fang Ling.

Boss Echoes and the Fury of the Skyborn Node

Every spell with "Echo" in its name is a guaranteed Boss drop — the most powerful spells in the game, mimicking the movesets of defeated enemies.

The Fury of the Skyborn Impetus Repository node reduces the Skyborn Might cost of all Echo spells by 1 when Madness is above 50%, making the most expensive Echoes (Echo of Zhao Yun at cost 5, Lotus Soulflame at cost 5) significantly more usable in sustained combat.

Warning: Two Echoes apply their status effects to the caster as well as enemies — Echo of Lu Hongliu causes Despair buildup on Wuchang, and Echo of Soulwood applies Corruption to the caster on use.

Equip appropriate resistance items before casting either in Despair or Corruption-heavy areas.

Three Acquisition Methods

Boss Echoes — dropped automatically after defeating each major and optional boss. Every boss in the game drops exactly one Echo spell on first defeat.

World Scrolls — spells hidden in Scripture Chests and optional areas, appearing as white glowing orbs picked up automatically on proximity. Most are in side rooms, off-path alcoves, and behind Elite Enemies. Several are in Worship's Rise and close permanently after the Altar Gate point of no return.

Merchant and NPC Rewards — three subcategories, each missable by choice:

  • Wu Gang sells foundational spells after his shop is upgraded with items like the Used Mortar
  • Panda NPC at Lightzen Temple sells Divine Ward (reduces incoming damage) for 3 Bamboozling Bamboo Shoots
  • Divine Blessing (HP recovery over time) — given by the Red-Clad Lady at Avian Dwelling only if "Agree" is chosen during her proposal dialogue
  • Polygonal Container — given by the Storyteller at Ruined Annalum only if you agree to help him
  • Golden Scepter — given by the Storyteller at Depths of the Capital via a specific four-step dialogue chain behind the Benediction Gate

The Essential Utility Spell: Ethereal Form

Ethereal Form at Zhenwu Antechamber costs 1 Skyborn Might, grants full invincibility during the dodge animation, and refunds the 1 Might cost if the auto-dodge activates.

It is broadly useful for every build — melee, spell, and hybrid — and is consistently ranked the highest-priority non-combat spell to equip.
