Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: El Camino Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

El Camino in Forza Horizon 5 is the photography Horizon Story — 9 chapters following Rae and the player across Mexico to find, drive to, and photograph ancient statues and landmarks before a time limit expires, with your car required to appear in every shot.

All 9 chapter locations are included alongside all other stories on our complete Forza Horizon 5 Mexico map.

The Photography Rule: Car in Every Frame

The mechanic that defines every El Camino chapter: your car must be visible in the photograph for the chapter objective to register.

Opening photo mode (D-pad Up on PS5), framing the statue without the car in shot, and taking the picture will not complete the chapter — drive close to the statue, position the car in the foreground or alongside the landmark, then photograph.

The same rule governs the photography Accolades tracked in the Accolade guide.

The Branching Chapter: Sunset or Noon

After completing El Camino de Sidney Wolverstone, the story splits into two parallel chapters: The Statue at Sunset and The Statue at Noon.

As with the branching chapter in Born Fast, this is not a permanent choice — both must be completed before the story continues to Mulegé.

Play either first; the other unlocks alongside it. The Statue at Noon has the tightest 3-star time of either branch at 1:32, while The Statue at Sunset allows 2:10.

The Final Chapter Gate: Hall of Fame and All Outposts

Temple of Quechula — the El Camino finale — has stricter prerequisites than any other Horizon Story chapter in the game. It only unlocks after:

  • All preceding El Camino chapters are completed (Chapters 1–8)
  • The Hall of Fame is reached (200,000 Accolade Points)
  • All five adventure outposts are built (Tulum, Jungle, Baja, Canyon, Guanajuato Expeditions)

If Temple of Quechula hasn't appeared, check all five outpost requirements from the Horizon Adventure screen before assuming a bug.

All 9 Chapters: Order and 3-Star Times

  • Into the Storm (first chapter) — 3 Stars: 8:20 (most generous in the story — the tutorial chapter)
  • El Camino de Sidney Wolverstone — 3 Stars: 3:30
  • The Statue at Sunset (branch A) — 3 Stars: 2:10
  • The Statue at Noon (branch B — tightest branch) — 3 Stars: 1:32
  • Mulegé (previous: either Statue chapter) — 3 Stars: 1:32
  • Cascadas — 3 Stars: 2:00
  • Valle de las Ranas — 3 Stars: 2:30
  • Ek' Balam — 3 Stars: 2:15
  • Temple of Quechula (Hall of Fame + all outposts required) — 3 Stars: 1:40

Trophy Connection: Cover to Cover

El Camino contributes to the "Cover to Cover" Silver trophy — earn 3 stars in all chapters of every Horizon Story.

All six stories count: El Camino, Born Fast, Lucha De Carreteras, Test Driver, V10, and Vocho.

Earning 3 stars in all nine El Camino chapters — including the gated Temple of Quechula — is required for Cover to Cover.
