Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: Expedition Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Expeditions in Forza Horizon 5 are the 5 adventure races that unlock every race discipline in the game — story-driven journeys that each build a permanent Horizon Outpost and simultaneously open a race category, PR Stunts, or a special event.

Nothing in Forza Horizon 5's open world fully opens without the relevant Expedition. All 5 are visible and properly documented on our Mexico interactive map, with the Sierra Nueva DLC's Badlands Goliath tracked separately on the Sierra Nueva map.

How Expeditions Work

From the pause menu, open Horizon Adventure and spend an Adventure Point to unlock an Expedition.

Each is a one-time story-driven race to a landmark — complete it and the associated Outpost is built permanently.

Expeditions cannot be replayed; the Outpost and its unlocked content are permanent once the Expedition is done.

Do Tulum First: Five Trophies in One Run

The Tulum Expedition is the most trophy-efficient first choice — completing it with all optional objectives earns five trophies simultaneously:

• "No Stone Unturned" (Bronze) — complete your first Expedition. Unlocks on finishing any Expedition; Tulum is the recommended first.
• "Far from the Mudding Crowd" (Bronze) — build the Horizon Apex Outpost (Tulum Expedition completion).
• "New Tune" (Bronze) — install the Horizon Pulse Radio Beacon (optional objective during Tulum).
• "Stunning Photography" (Bronze) — take a photo during a tropical storm. A storm occurs during the Tulum Expedition; open photo mode when the weather event triggers.
• "An Item of Extreme Value" (Bronze) — photograph the Golden Tlaloc Totem, an optional objective during Tulum. The statue is at the south-east corner of the temple area.

All 5 Expeditions: What Each Unlocks

• Tulum Expedition — builds the Horizon Apex Outpost, unlocking all Road Racing Events and the El Camino story. Trophy: "Far from the Mudding Crowd".

• Guanajuato Expedition — builds the Horizon Street Scene Outpost, unlocking all Street Racing Events, the three drag strips, and the Born Fast story. Also unlocks Hotel Castillo (5,000,000 credits — daily wheelspin) on the map. Trophy: "Ask Any Racer, Any Real Racer".

• Canyon Expedition — builds the Horizon Rush Outpost, unlocking all PR Stunts across Mexico simultaneously: Danger Signs, Speed Traps, Speed Zones, Drift Zones, and Trailblazers. Trophy: "Adrenaline Rush".

• Baja Expedition — builds the Horizon Baja Outpost, unlocking all Cross Country Events. Contains 4 optional Accolades (Put on Thermal Suit, Collect Lake Sample, Smash 5 Steam Vents, Place Seismometer). Trophy: "There's Always Money in the Baja Stand".

• Jungle Expedition — builds the Horizon Wilds Outpost, unlocking all Dirt Racing Events. Contains 5 optional Accolades, including Lost Barn Find Notes, which triggers the Jaguar XJR-15 discovery at the abandoned airstrip. Trophy: "AWDyssey".

1. Tulum first — five trophies in one run, unlocks Road Racing and El Camino
2. Canyon second — immediately reveals all PR Stunts across the entire Mexico map
3. Jungle third — unlocks Dirt Racing and the Jaguar XJR-15 Barn Find
