Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: Cross Country Event Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Cross Country Events in Forza Horizon 5 are the 20 off-road races across Mexico's most punishing terrain — canyon floors, volcano slopes, flooded jungle paths, and open desert — unlocked through the Horizon Baja outpost after completing the Baja Expedition.

All 20 are visible and ready to be tracked on Map Master's Forza Horizon 5 interactive Mexico map.

Unlocking Cross Country Racing

Cross Country events are not available at the start of the game.

Open the Horizon Adventure screen from the pause menu, spend an Adventure Point on the Baja Expedition, complete it, and the Horizon Baja Outpost is automatically built — unlocking all 20 Cross Country events simultaneously and earning the "There's Always Money in the Baja Stand" Bronze trophy.

Two Event Formats: Circuits and Point-to-Point

• Cross Country Circuits (6) — looped events where the track returns to the starting gate, similar in format to road and dirt circuits but across open terrain with no asphalt: Baja Cross Country Circuit, Costera Cross Country Circuit, Airfield Cross Country Circuit, Ek' Balam Cross Country Circuit, Herencia Cross Country Circuit, Urban Cross Country Circuit.

• Cross Country Routes (14) — point-to-point events across Mexico's landscape, often covering significant distances through multiple biomes in a single race: Las Dunas, El Descenso, The Titan, Ribera Rocosa, Festival, Oasis, Granjas, Trópico, Restos, Estadio, Copper Canyon, Foto Final, Las Ranas, Costa Este.

The Trophy That Needs All of Them: Racing and Pacing

"Racing and Pacing and Plotting the Course" (Gold) — win 80 different Race Events in Mexico. All five race disciplines count: Cross Country, Road Racing, Dirt Racing, Street Racing, and Drag Racing.

Winning all 20 Cross Country events contributes 20 of the required 80 wins. Each race must be won in a distinct event — replaying the same event does not add to the count.

The Best Car Class for Cross Country

Cross Country events reward AWD drivetrains and high Launch stats over raw top speed.

Consistent traction through mud, sand, and river crossings matters more than peak velocity on the short straight sections.

The off-road suspension upgrades available in the tuning menu meaningfully improve handling across rough ground. For the most demanding terrain (The Titan's volcanic slopes, the Copper Canyon route's rocky descents), an S1-class AWD rally or truck build with raised suspension and off-road tires consistently outperforms faster but lower cars that lose traction on loose surfaces.

The Titan, Buggy, and the Beast

The Titan — the ultimate Cross Country race, covering an enormous distance across multiple biomes, including the active volcano. There is no dedicated trophy for winning it, but it counts toward the 80 Race Events total. Plan for a longer race duration than any other Cross Country event.

Buggy and the Beast — the Showcase event unlocked as the second ticket in the Cross Country outpost lineup. This is a Showcase, not a standard race, so it counts toward the "Putting on a Show" trophy rather than the 80 Race Events.
