Clair Obscur Expedition 33: Point of Interest Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Points of Interest in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 are exploration markers spanning two distinct categories: the 12 underwater dive spots scattered across The Continent (most containing Colour of Lumina or dungeon access), and a set of notable landmarks pinned across the area maps.

All confirmed locations are on MapMaster's Expedition 33 interactive maps, with dive spots mapped at their exact water surface coordinates and landmarks cross-referenced with their area entries.

What Points of Interest Are in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

This guide covers two types.

Underwater dive spots are the glowing blue vortices in The Continent's ocean — not interactable until Esquie's Dive ability is unlocked, after which they yield Lumina Points or open a hidden dungeon entrance.

Landmark POIs are named locations within area maps — the Gestral Theater, Gestral Bazar, Gestral Casino, Gestral Village Arena, Chief's House, and the Boulangerie — which don't fit into other guide categories but are essential for navigation, story triggers, and specific side quest chains.

The Dive Ability: How to Unlock Underwater Exploration

Esquie cannot dive until he reaches Relationship Level 6, which only becomes achievable at the start of Act 3.

During camp rest stops from Act 2 onward, choosing to spend time with Esquie increases his Relationship Level — each hangout increases it by 1, and Level 6 is the maximum. If earlier hangouts were missed, they can be done consecutively in Act 3 by repeatedly speaking to Esquie at camp.

At Level 6, a cutscene triggers automatically: Esquie and Verso return to Esquie's Nest to retrieve a special rock named Urrie from Francois — the same turtle-shell boss fought during Act 1, now significantly stronger (approximately 25,000 HP, opens with 5 Shields, and uses a powerful ice attack).

Defeat Francois, and Esquie learns to dive. Unlocking the Dive ability also completes the full set of Esquie traversal skills, earning the Plane, Train, and Submarine trophy and achievement.

12 Underwater Dive Spots: 55 Colour of Lumina and Renoir's Drafts

Of the 12 dive spots on The Continent, 11 contain loot, and 1 opens a hidden dungeon:

  • 11 loot spots each yield 5 Colour of Lumina, for a total of 55 Colour of Lumina from diving alone — one of the largest passive Lumina Point expansions available through a single activity. All loot dive spots are tracked in the Underwater Treasure guide with their exact surface coordinates.

  • 1 portal spot (between the Visages and Sirène islands, south of The Monolith) leads to Renoir's Drafts — not to be confused with Verso's Drafts, the separate DLC area. Renoir's Drafts is a Level 95+ endgame dungeon containing late-game Weapons, Pictos, and the Music Record "Endless Light." It also contains the portal to The Abyss, home of Simon — the hardest optional encounter in the game.

Renoir's Drafts: The Hidden Endgame Dungeon

Renoir's Drafts is accessible only via the single portal dive spot between Visages and Sirène. It is recommended to enter well into Act 3 with a fully upgraded party and Weapons — the standard enemies inside are around Level 31, matching the items they drop.

The dungeon leads to The Abyss, which contains Simon (who can reduce the entire party to 1 HP with a single ability and drops 2 Perfect Chroma Catalysts and 50 Colour of Lumina on defeat).

Points of Interest in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The six landmark POIs tracked in the guide cover the named zones of Gestral Village and Lumière - Act 1:

  • Gestral Village Arena — where the story tournament takes place; you must visit it after speaking to Golgra in the Chief's House.
  • Chief's House — Golgra's residence; first point of contact when entering the village during the story.
  • Gestral Bazar — home of Berrami, Jujubree, Eesda, and many other functional NPCs and merchants.
  • Gestral Theater — a performance venue that doubles as a fighting arena, per local tradition.
  • Gestral Casino — under construction when first visited; the project of a disappointed Gestral who can be found at the entrance.
  • Boulangerie — in Lumière Act 1, requires a Festival Token to enter in NG+. The Boulangerie is the only way to obtain the Baguette Weapon — making it the most consequential landmark POI for completionists planning their Festival Token use across playthroughs.
