Atomfall: Comic Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Comics in Atomfall are the 10 period-authentic collectibles hidden across the Windscale Quarantine Zone — real 1960s British publications from Fleetway and IPC that Rebellion used to cement the game's alternate-history atmosphere.

Finding all 10 earns the "Avid Collector" achievement and trophy. All 10 locations are documented across our Atomfall interactive game maps.

Avid Collector: All 10 Required

Every single Comic must be found and collected — there is no partial milestone. Unlike Garden Gnomes or Lunchboxes where some are more accessible than others, the 10 Comics span all five regions and demand genuine endgame access for the final two.

Aim to collect the eight surface-region Comics during normal exploration and save the two Interchange Comics for a dedicated endgame sweep.

The Series: Real 1960s British Publications

Rebellion didn't invent these titles — all five series were genuine publications from the era the game inhabits:

  • Jet-Ace Logan (3 issues) — a British SF aviation comic from Fleetway, 1958–1965
  • Rick Random (2 issues) — a British space detective comic from IPC
  • John Steel: Special Agent (2 issues) — British spy-action comic
  • Captain Condor (2 issues — Lion Issue 248 and Lion Issue 260, two different issues of the same serial)
  • Lion Annual 1962 (1 issue) — the annual compilation of Lion, a British boys' comic

All 10 Locations by Region

Slatten Dale — 3 Comics:

  • Jet-Ace Logan: Evil in Orbit — the easiest Comic in the game. In Bunker L8 (the starting bunker), after crawling under the door on the way to the exit, follow the right wall to find a small room. The comic is on a barrel at the back behind shelves. Collectible within the first 10 minutes.
  • Lion Annual 1962 — inside a cave hidden behind a waterfall northwest of the starting bunker near the Convoy Wreckage. On top of wooden pallets.
  • John Steel: Special Agent — upstairs in a building west of the quarry (27.9E, 74.9N), on the work/drawing board on the second floor.

Wyndham Village — 2 Comics:

  • Captain Condor: Mystery on the Moon - Lion Issue 248 — in a bathroom stall on the upper floor of Grendel's Head pub. The stall furthest from the door.
  • Jet-Ace Logan: 10 Days to Doom — on a bench in front of Wyndham Garage, east of Grendel's Head. Visible from the road.

Casterfell Woods — 2 Comics:

  • Captain Condor: Mystery on the Moon - Lion Issue 260 — in the farthest house on the left along the Village Outskirts street (27.6E, 85.5N), in a small crate next to two beds. Accessible from the Wyndham Village northwest exit.
  • Rick Random in Sabotage From Space — upper floor of Datlow Hall (large building with a roundabout outside). Enter via the back doors, climb the ladder inside, and collect from the table.

Skethermoor — 1 Comic:

  • John Steel: One False Step — in the basement of Nora's Barn (41.2E, 78.3N). Go downstairs from the upper floor where Nora the trader is located. The comic is on the bench immediately next to the basement door.

The Interchange — 2 Comics (endgame only):

  • Jet-Ace Logan: Planet of Fear — requires Data Store Alpha to be powered. Navigate to the lower level of Data Store Alpha, exit through the door, follow signs toward Medical, and up the stairs. In the first room at the top.
  • Rick Random and the Planet of Terror — in the blue infected Windscale Plant area with Thralls and Turrets, past the Oberon Dig Site entrance. Navigate to the right of the main crater area, squeeze through a gap in the wall, and turn right. The comic sits next to a B.A.R.D. container. Collect this last — it can be grabbed on the way to the final sequence.

Infection Protection Is Required for Both Interchange Comics

Both Interchange Comics are in areas with blue-spore infection that drains health rapidly. Before attempting either, obtain and use one of: Strange Tonic (from Mother Jago's quest), Doctor Holder's Experimental Inoculation, or both.

Entering either infected area without protection makes comic retrieval impractical.
