Atomfall: Atomic Battery Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Atomic Batteries in Atomfall are the rarest and most consequential items in the Windscale Quarantine Zone — 11 fixed locations across all five regions, plus a renewable supply from B.A.R.D. Robots.

At minimum, 4 are required to power the four Data Stores in The Interchange and reach the game's endings; 5 are needed for full Interchange exploration (one is found inside for free); and up to 6 may be consumed depending on which ending path is taken through the Oberon Dig Site.

Three Sources: World, Traders, and Robots

Fixed world locations (8) — found in chests, on corpses, inside locked facilities, and in faction strongholds. These are documented in the guide table below.

Traders (3) — three traders across the map each stock one Atomic Battery. These are the lowest-friction early acquisitions:

• Molly Jowett — Trader Camp, Slatten Dale (west of the Wyndham Village entrance). Prefers Molotov cocktails in trade.
• Billy Gorse — Casterfell Woods, coordinates 21.5E, 89.6N.
• Nora Thorndike — Nora's Barn, Skethermoor, coordinates 41.8E, 77.5N. The barn is surrounded by traps; approach with care.

B.A.R.D. Robots — renewable source. Target the red gas tanks on any B.A.R.D. robot to disable it, then sprint to the robot and interact with the glowing battery on its back.

The dead robot in the pool of water northwest of Nora's Barn in Skethermoor is the most accessible of the fixed robot drops and requires no combat.

The "Batteries Not Included" Achievement

Inserting an Atomic Battery into a downed (deactivated) B.A.R.D. robot — rather than looting one from a destroyed robot — unlocks the "Batteries Not Included" achievement.

The Interchange's ground floor has several downed robots near the Robotics and Data Store Room A entrances that can be reactivated this way.

Critical Note: Data Store Alpha Requires Strange Tonic First

The blue fungal infection filling Data Store Alpha is lethal without protection. Before inserting an Atomic Battery into this terminal, complete the quest for Mother Jago to obtain the Strange Tonic recipe, then craft and consume it.

Powering Alpha without the tonic results in death before reaching the terminal.

Storing Batteries: Use Pneumatic Tubes

Atomic Batteries each occupy one inventory slot — precious space in a 12-slot inventory.

Pneumatic Tubes function as the game's item storage network; depositing batteries at a tube keeps them accessible for withdrawal at any other tube in the system.

Tubes are placed throughout the Interchange, specifically near battery terminal locations.
