Atomfall: Manual Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Atomfall Manuals are the 13 training books that unlock Atomfall's locked skill branches — each Manual opens 3 new skills in one of 8 combat, survival, and crafting disciplines.


The game has 36 total skills: 12 available from the start, and 24 locked behind the 8 unique Manual types. Finding any one copy of a Manual type unlocks its three skills permanently, regardless of how many duplicate copies exist in the world.


All confirmed Manual locations are available on our Atomfall complete interactive maps.


Trophy Connection: Refer to Manual


"Refer to Manual" (Bronze) — learn any 12 skills. Since 12 skills are available by default without any Manuals, this trophy can technically be unlocked without finding a single Manual — just spending Training Stimulants on the 12 base skills. In practice, unlocking 4 Manual types and learning all their skills (4 × 3 = 12) is the most build-efficient route.


The Crafting Manual deserves special priority: its Gunsmith skill unlocks all gun upgrade recipes and is required for the "Make Do and Mend" (Bronze) trophy (upgrade any firearm to Pristine). Deep Pockets (same Manual) increases crafting material and ammo storage capacity.

  • The Interchange — behind the Data Store D Store Room Door (requires Data Store D Store Room Key after powering Data Store Delta)


Firearms Mastery Manual (3 skills: Firearms Focus, Firearms Handling, Firearms Stability)

  • Wyndham Village — sold by Alf Buckshaw inside Grendel's Head pub
  • Skethermoor — sold by Corporal "Bootsy" Hughes
  • Skethermoor — on a shelf in Electrical Room B, Loading Bay, Skethermoor Prison (requires Security Keycard to reach)


Bow Mastery Manual (3 skills: Bow Focus, Draw Control, Draw Speed)

  • Casterfell Woods — on a box outside the castle gates (19.6E, 83.8N)


Resistances Manual (3 skills: Poison Resistance, Bleed Resistance, Burn Resistance)

  • The Interchange — in the hallway between the Medical and Auditorium areas


Duplicate Manuals Are Not Wasted


Finding a second copy of a Manual type doesn't grant new skills — those are already unlocked. However, duplicate Manuals can be bartered with Traders for other goods.


A duplicate Stealth Manual found in Casterfell Woods while Molly's version is already in inventory still has barter value.
