Silent Hill f: Weapon Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Silent Hill f breaks one of survival horror's most persistent conventions: there are no firearms. Every weapon Hinako carries through Ebisugaoka is a melee tool — pipes, knives, farming implements, traditional Japanese blades, and two exceptional weapons that exist outside the standard rules.

Every weapon location across all three required playthroughs is tracked on the interactive maps, with spawn triggers and playthrough availability noted per entry.

Silent Hill f Weapons: Melee Only, No Firearms

The absence of guns is a deliberate design choice that changes survival horror fundamentally. Hinako fights exclusively at close range, relying on weapon type, durability management, dodge timing, and Toolkit conservation to stay alive.

The game's soulslike combat rhythm — attack, dodge, counter — is built around the constraint of running out of weapon durability mid-encounter, making every pickup decision meaningful.

Weapon Durability: Use Before It Breaks

Every standard weapon has a durability bar that depletes with use. When the bar empties completely, the weapon is permanently destroyed and removed from inventory — it cannot be recovered or repaired after breaking.

The HUD crescent moon icon shows current durability; when it begins visibly depleting, apply a Toolkit to restore approximately 50% durability before the weapon breaks.

Two Omamori charms reduce weapon attrition: the Otter Omamori restores spare weapon durability after defeating enemies, and the Crab Omamori prevents durability loss during Focus use.

Durability pressure scales with difficulty. On Story, weapons break less frequently, and replacements are plentiful.

On Lost in the Fog, weapon management becomes a core survival skill — knowing which weapons to prioritise, when to switch, and where the next replacement spawns are determines whether Hinako enters boss encounters armed or empty-handed.

Two Unbreakable Weapons: Sacred Sword and PP-8001

Sacred Sword

The most powerful weapon in the game, exclusive to New Game Plus. Obtained through the five Jizo Statue offering chain, which rewards the Sacred Sword at the Divine Tree. Unpurified: cannot break, self-repairs when sheathed, enables mobile blocking, occupies a dedicated fourth weapon slot.

Purified (via the Crimson Water Puzzle): becomes a faster light katana but loses self-repair and requires Toolkits to maintain durability. Unlocking the Sacred Sword earns the Malevolent Blade Never Rusts trophy.

PP-8001

A secret alien weapon that functions as a lightsaber. Unlocked by completing the UFO Ending (Ending 5), then interacting with any of the three Great Space Invasion Movie Posters in any subsequent playthrough.

A flying saucer drops the weapon next to Hinako's location on the first poster interaction. At full durability, it shares the Sacred Sword's moveset.

As durability depletes, its size decreases, shifting first to a Baseball Bat moveset, then to a Kitchen Knife moveset. A charged Focus Attack turns it red for increased damage; a second Focus Attack while red emits a flash that stuns all nearby enemies. Like the Sacred Sword, it self-recovers durability while other weapons are in use.

All Weapon Types in Silent Hill f

Standard weapons found throughout Ebisugaoka and surrounding areas:

  • Steel Pipe (first weapon, found via story progression)
  • Sickle, Kitchen Knife (most powerful standard weapon — breaks fastest, approximately 3–4 available across the entire game)
  • Baseball Bat, Crowbar, Axe, Sledgehammer (highest damage among standard weapons, found in Ebisugaoka Middle School and Corridors)

Story-obtained weapons:

  • Kaiken (obtained automatically at the Inari Shrine on Shrine Path)
  • Lantern (obtained automatically after leaving the Shrine Path Temple)
  • Fox Arm (obtained through Dark Shrine story progression)

Naginata — the most distinctive non-story weapon, found on the altar in the hidden room behind the secret corridor in Corridors. The hidden corridor is revealed by using the Inari Sculpture on the cabinet pedestal — both are cross-linked from the Naginata's guide entry.

Weapons Change Between Playthroughs

Some weapon pickups change between runs. The Steel Pipe found next to the box by the Hokora in Ebisugaoka is replaced by a Baseball Bat from NG+ onward — the guide entry flags this variant with both the base-game and NG+ weapon named.

This shift reflects a broader pattern: NG+ runs often yield stronger weapon variants at the same positions as their base-game counterparts.
