Silent Hill f: Inventory Upgrade Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Inventory Upgrades are among the most impactful permanent collectibles in Silent Hill f — six bags hidden across the game that each add one slot to Hinako's carrying capacity, expanding it from the opening 8 slots to a maximum of 14.

Collecting all six unlocks the Fervent Collector trophy. Four are available in the base game; the final two are locked behind New Game+. Every base-game location is tracked on the interactive SHf maps. NG+ bags are included in the NG+ Inventory Upgrade locations guide.

Note: Key Items — puzzle items, keys, and story objects — do not occupy inventory slots. The 8-to-14 slot expansion applies exclusively to consumables, offerings, and bags.

What Inventory Upgrades Do in Silent Hill f

Each bag permanently adds one inventory slot the moment it's collected — no visit to a Hokora shrine required.

The expansion is immediate. With 14 total slots, Hinako can carry meaningful stacks of First Aid Kits, Kudzu Tea, and combat consumables alongside high-value Faith Offerings like Antique Combs and Dried Carcasses without constantly choosing between items mid-exploration.

At 8 slots, the choice is constant and punishing; at 14, it becomes manageable. On Lost in the Fog difficulty, where resources are scarce and every item matters, the difference between 8 and 14 slots can be decisive.

All Six Bags and Where to Find Them

  • Shoulder BagEbisugaoka, second visit. Found on a wooden dumpster at the end of an alley, collectible after returning from the Shrine Path. Not available on the first pass through Ebisugaoka.

  • School BagEbisugaoka Middle School, inside Suga Yosie's locker in the locker room. The locker combination is 505. This is the most commonly searched Inventory Upgrade in the game — players reach the locker and find it locked without a code provided by the environment on all difficulty settings.

  • Dirty Drawstring BagMain Hall, on a cabinet by the wall. Found after returning from the second ritual — head up the stairs rather than down when the split appears.

  • FuroshikiShimizu Residence, on a bench in the corner of the kitchen in Shimizu Residence III.

  • Embroidered Drawstring Bag (NG+ only) — Corridors, behind an Inari-sama door in the western area. Requires the Brooch from the previous ending to open. Far left corner shelf inside the room.

Why All Six Matter

The Fervent Collector trophy requires all six bags collected — meaning at least two complete playthroughs are necessary, regardless of how thorough the first run is.

Collecting the four base-game bags on the first pass and building the inventory to 12 slots before NG+ begins means the two NG+ bags complete the maximum immediately on entry, rather than playing a second half of NG+ still at reduced capacity.

Picking up the Shoulder Bag and School Bag as early as possible in the first playthrough is particularly valuable given how early they're accessible and how much difference two extra slots make for the middle sections of the game.
