Revenge of the Savage Planet: Tech Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Tech in Revenge of the Savage Planet is the Kindex's second-largest category — 88 entries spanning crashed ship components, alien machinery, corporate signage, and the furniture of your own base.

It's also the category with the most ways to lock yourself out of an easy scan, since several entries must be scanned before being used, opened, or repaired. All 88 Tech Entries are included on our Revenge of the Savage Planet complete interactive maps.

The Category's Golden Rule: Scan Before You Touch

Three recurring entry types punish the trigger-happy.

  • The Data Port must be scanned before interacting with it to start its hack.

  • The Major Supply Crate on the Cliffs of Abaddoon plateau must be scanned before it's opened during the main story.

  • The Kindred Port-A-Porty teleporter in Slarragon Forest should be scanned before activation. All three exist on multiple planets — one scan anywhere covers the entry — but a habit of scanning every new device before pressing its buttons removes the risk entirely.

Your Base Is a Growing Scannable

A unique wrinkle: a large cluster of Tech entries in Nu Florida doesn't exist until the Habitat is upgraded.

The Greenhouse arrives with the first upgrade; the Creature Pen, Research Lab, Swampy Catwalk, Outhouse, Cozy Buildings, and the magnificently named Pergy's Perfectly Perfect Pergola appear alongside the Museum of Life Mission; and the Futuristic RV, Power Generator, and Planet Cannon only spawn after the second Habitat upgrade.

The fix is one lap of the base with the scanner out after every upgrade tier — plus the interiors: the Wardrobe, TV Screen, Slappi Toy Box, vending machines, and Meat Buddy Respawn Station are all entries too.

Cryopods and Data Terminals: The Lore Hunt

The category's hidden-object side lives in the Cryopods (Fix-3R and 10-DY in Caves of Miranyth, NE1 and XE-12 in G'Nortt's High Rise, Odd-2 in Cactus Valley — the latter scanned during the Best Served Cold mission) and the five Data Terminals, tucked behind waterfalls, under whip-cleared mushroom holes in the Depths of Trrn, and underwater at Chikit's Pools.

These two families carry the story of the expeditions that failed before yours — and feed the achievements tied to gathering Alta's dirty laundry.

Slappi's Den: A Dozen Exclusives, Including the Boss

More than ten Tech entries exist only inside Slappi's Den of Fun — the Giant SLAPPI, SLAPPI Cart, The Big Cat Door, The Director's Special Buttons, the Refurbished Stock Tracker, assorted hatches, and Mecha SLAPPI itself, the final boss, which carries its own Tech entry best scanned during the fight.

The Den is unmapped but linear and fully revisitable, so a missed scan costs a return trip rather than a save file.

The Pentaforce and the shrine furniture (Wall Bouncers, Circle Bouncers, the Biggus Screenus) round out the Summit-area exclusives.

One Scan Covers the Galaxy

Dozens of entries — the Teleportation Pad, 3D Printer, Broken Vent, Cargo Box, Planet Cannon Pod, Vyper Power Panels, and the Selfie Spot podium among them — repeat across planets and register permanently on the first scan.

The table's multi-planet notes show exactly which entries can be safely ignored later, keeping the real hunt focused on the location-unique pieces.
