Revenge of the Savage Planet: Resource Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Resources in Revenge of the Savage Planet are the 27 scannable materials — elemental veins, plant dispensers, baits, and consumables — that form the Kindex's most forgiving category, since nearly all of them appear on every planet and several register automatically.

That said, a handful of deliberate scans and one mission-gated barrel still catch players at 26/27. All 27 are included on our complete Revenge of the Savage Planet interactive maps.

Automatic vs Deliberate Scans

Roughly a third of the category registers itself: Carbon, Aluminium, Silicon, Health Essence, Orange Goo, Blight Bomb, and Printer Slurry all unlock on first pickup or harvest — no scanner required.

The rest demand an intentional scan of the source object: the Carbon, Aluminium, and Silicon Veins embedded in rock walls, the Goo, Lava, and Ferro Dispensers that fill the Goo Ingestor, plants like the Vitality Plant, Volcano Plant, and Bombegranate Plant, and oddities like the Seed Bag, Metallic Chunk, and Gelatinous Blob.

Pfyzzich Beach and Slarragon Forest between them host first-scan opportunities for most of the list — one thorough Stellaris Prime pass nearly clears the category.

The One Entry That Isn't Always There: Grob X

Grob X — the upgraded bait barrel — only becomes scannable during the Interstellar Geographic Mission from the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program chain.

It's the single Resource entry gated behind quest progress, and the most common reason a Resources tab sits one short after everything else is done. Scan the barrel in Slarragon Forest's clearing while the mission is active.

Scan Before You Grab

Our data shows the Printer Slurry entry unlocking automatically on opening a cache — but launch-week players reported missing the entry by grabbing cartridges without scanning.

The zero-cost insurance: scan the first Slurry container before looting it. The same one-scan-covers-all logic applies to the Alta Coupon Crate entry — the pristine crate on the Habitat roof in Nu Florida handles it and the Alta Cares achievement in one visit.

Two Planet Exclusions Worth Knowing

Almost every Resource repeats across all four planets, with two exceptions baked into the data: the Ferro Bush never appears on Zenethian Rift, and the Ice Detonator never appears on Xephyr.

Neither blocks completion — both exist elsewhere — but knowing the gaps saves a pointless search on the wrong planet.

What These Actually Do

Beyond the Kindex, this category is the game's whole economy: Carbon, Aluminium, Silicon, and Printer Slurry feed every 3D printer purchase; Vitality Plants and Health Essence restore health alongside Orange Goo; the three Dispensers load the Goo Ingestor for electricity, lava, and goo puzzles; Grob bait turns hostile fauna against each other; and the Blight Bomb, Bombegranate, and Gelatinous Blob cover demolition, amber-breaking, and bounce-pad traversal.

Scanning them all is the easy part — using them well is the game.
