What Dolls Are in Little Nightmares III

Dolls are small figurines lying on the ground, on shelves, on tables, and tucked into hidden rooms throughout every chapter. Collecting one is simple — walk up to it and press the interact button.

A sound cue confirms the pickup. No special ability is needed for most Dolls, making them the most accessible collectible in the game. The challenge is purely navigational — finding rooms off the main path, discovering hidden passages, and triggering environmental mechanisms that open access to harder locations.

None of the 25 Dolls are permanently missable. Chapter Select is available after completing the game, allowing any chapter to be replayed from the start. The chapter select screen displays how many Dolls have been collected in each chapter against the total, making it easy to identify exactly which chapter needs revisiting.

Five Doll Trophies and Their Chapter Requirements

The Toybox, Candy Shop, Token Gestures, Filed Away, and Loose Threads trophies are all tied directly to Doll collection — five separate rewards for different completion milestones:

• Toybox — collect all 5 Dolls in Chapter 1: Necropolis. The first Doll in the entire game appears right after the opening ladder climb and is nearly impossible to miss — it serves as the game's introduction to the collectible.

• Candy Shop — collect all 5 Dolls in Chapter 2: Candy Factory. The Candy Factory's better lighting compared to other chapters makes spotting Dolls more straightforward, though several are in rooms adjacent to the Supervisor's patrol path.

• Token Gestures — collect all 10 Dolls in Chapter 3: Carnevale. Ten Dolls in a single chapter makes Carnevale the most demanding Doll sweep in the game. Several require mechanisms to be enabled before access opens.

• Filed Away — collect all 5 Dolls in Chapter 4: The Institute. One of the five has a conditional visibility requirement — see the section below.

• Loose Threads — collect all 25 Dolls across the entire game. Unlocks automatically once the final Doll is picked up, regardless of which chapter it's collected in last.

Doll Distribution: How Many Per Chapter

The 25 Dolls break down as: 5 in Necropolis, 5 in Candy Factory, 10 in Carnevale, and 5 in The Institute.

Carnevale's count of 10 reflects the chapter's scale — it's the largest and most structurally complex area in the game — while every other chapter carries an equal share of five.

The Hardest Dolls to Find

Chapter 3: Carnevale holds the most difficult individual Dolls in the game:

• Doll #2 is only reachable after enabling and rotating a specific mechanism — the mechanism's location is cross-linked from the Doll's checklist entry.
• Doll #5 sits in a room behind a secret door (door location cross-linked).
• Doll #6 requires reaching a small upper room via a platform, exiting to the outside, re-entering through a hole in a wall, crossing a wooden beam, and squeezing through a crack.
• Doll #9 is found through a vent hidden behind a flap. A piano-based puzzle in a dim hallway area — stepping on every key from left to right — causes a bookcase to slide open and reveal another Doll behind it. Each of these has the full navigation path recorded in the checklist entry.

Chapter 4: The Institute has one conditional Doll — Doll #2 is only visible next to the TV if you currently have Low's doll in your possession. Without it, the Doll does not appear in the room.
