There are 9 Story Events in Forza Horizon 6, spanning 27 chapters across four distinct categories.
Each chapter is rated one to three stars based on your performance — one star is enough to progress to the next chapter, but three stars in every chapter is what the game asks for to reach full completion.
Getting 3 stars in all 27 chapters gives you 81 stars, unlocking the Storyteller achievement — the hardest single-player challenge in the game.
Day Trips — 6 short regional tours guided by Mei, one chapter each. These take you through Shimanoyama, Nangan, Hokubu & Minamino, Ito, Sotoyama & Takashiro, and Tokyo City, mixing speed zone challenges, sprint races, and skill chain runs across different car types. Each Day Trip has its own starting location on the map.
Drift Club Japan — 6-chapter drift story set in Tokyo City, starring Jordan, Isamu, and Midori. Chapters escalate from a Tokyo street drift run to tandem drifting on Touge roads and a final session at Shimanoyama Drift Circuit. Reward cars include the 1997 Formula Drift #777 Nissan 240SX.
Moto Auto Zine — 6-chapter photography story set along the Ito coast, starring real-world automotive photographer Larry Chen alongside Keiko. Each chapter combines a road trip with a timed photography challenge — getting your car in the right position at the right moment. Starting location: northern coast of Ito.
Yuji's Auto — 6-chapter car restoration and delivery story set in Minamino, starring Yuji and Keiko. Chapters involve collecting and delivering classic cars back to Yuji's workshop before a sprint challenge in each one. Full 3-star completion across all 6 chapters rewards the Toyota GR86 Stories Edition. Starting location: Yuji's workshop in central Minamino.
Completing Story chapters grants Discover Japan Points, contributing to your Stamp progression and unlocking Barn Find rumours and Player Houses — Stories sit inside the Discover Japan system, not the Wristband track.
Reward cars from Stories are exclusive and unavailable from the Autoshow.
All 27 chapter starting locations are pinned on our interactive Forza Horizon 6 Japan map, with 3-star requirements and tips for every chapter in the checklist below.

How to Get 3 Stars in North Shimanoyama Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll need to complete a Speed Zone. Your objective is to maintain a speed of over 110 mph from the moment you enter the Speed Zone, all the way to the finish line. Thanks to the car you'll be driving, obtaining 3 stars is fairly easy, as long as you are careful when entering the last left turn before the finish line. If you mess up that turn, use the rewind option. |
| Shimanoyama Day Trip Part 2 (South Shimanoyama)JapanShimanoyama Day Trip Part 2 (South Shimanoyama) | Japan | Found on the western side of the Ohtani Region. South Shimanoyama Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in South Shimanoyama Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll need to complete a Speed Zone. Your objective is to maintain a speed of over 125 mph from the moment you enter the Speed Zone, all the way to the finish line. Getting 3 Stars in this chapter is very easy because you'll be driving a Porsche with great handling. If you enter the Speed Zone at 155 mph and if you are careful when taking the two turns before the finish line, you won't have any problems in dealing with this challenge. |
| Nangan Day TripJapanNangan Day Trip | Japan | Found in the northwestern corner of the Nagan Region. Nangan Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in Nangan Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll get to race against the avatars. To get 3 Stars, your driving must be close to perfection. This means that you are not allowed to make any mistakes. Bumping into other cars, leaving the road, and missing checkpoints is not allowed. For this race, you must rely on your driving skills and the replay option whenever you make a mistake. Pro Tip: If you struggle to get 3 Stars, you can try taking a shortcut through the forest on the right side of the road after the first checkpoint; however, you have to make sure you exit the forest before the second checkpoint. |
| Hokubu and Minamino Day TripJapanHokubu and Minamino Day Trip | Japan | Found on the northern side of the Minamino Region. Hokubu and Minamino Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in Hokubu and Minamino Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll get to race against the avatars. To get 3 Stars, you'll need to remember that you are driving an SUV that can handle rough terrain. As such, consider cutting all corners that require you to hit the brakes, and don't miss the shortcut you can take at the last U-turn. If done properly, you can complete this challenge without slowing down. Obviously, if you make a mistake, the rewind option is your best friend. |
| Ito Day TripJapanIto Day Trip | Japan | Found on the northeastern coast of the Ito Region. Ito Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in Ito Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll get to race Jordan. While you are required to score 50.000 Skill Points before reaching the finish line, if you want to earn 3 stars, you will need 100.000 Skill Points. This means that the current challenge has two objectives. First, you have to complete the race before the time runs out, and second, you need 100.000 Skill Points banked. Skill Points can be earned in various ways in Forza games. From drifting to hitting objects, everything matters. The real trick here is not to get greedy when your Skill Chain is big. Bank the points! Pro Tip: Your opponent in this challenge is the clock, not Jordan. Last, but not least, you need over 100.000 banked in total, not in a single Skill Chain. |
| Sotoyama and Takashiro Day Trip Part 1 (Sotoyama)JapanSotoyama and Takashiro Day Trip Part 1 (Sotoyama) | Japan | Found on the northwestern side of the Takashiro Region. Sotoyama Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in Sotoyama Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll drive a beautiful Lamborghini, and your 3 Stars objective will be to bank 125.000 Skill Points when you reach the finish line. This objective is similar to the one from the Ito Day Trip Story, and so are the ground rules. Do not get greedy, remember to drift as much as possible, hit as many smahables as you can, and always avoid unbreakable objects. |
| Sotoyama and Takashiro Day Trip Part 2 (Takashiro)JapanSotoyama and Takashiro Day Trip Part 2 (Takashiro) | Japan | Found on the northwestern side of the Takashiro Region. Takashiro Day Trip Story Details:
How to Get 3 Stars in Takashiro Day Trip:After the initial trip with Mei, you'll drive a Ford, and you'll need to complete a Danger Sign. Specifically, for 3 Stars, you have to jump over 985 ft or 300 m. This is easier than you think because the car you are driving is powerful enough to beat the required distance. If you hit the ramp at the end of the country road at 140 mph, the 3 Stars are yours. Just make sure that when you enter the road on top of the hill, you don't make any sudden moves, and if you do, remember the rewind option. |

To get 3 Stars, you need to reach the finish line in under 1 minute. The challenge is fairly easy if you ignore the timer and the speed you need to maintain, and focus on the traffic. This objective is not part of the challenge, so reach the destination and learn how to handle the car you are driving. After reaching the docks, the 3 Stars challenge begins, and you need to score over 120,000 Skill Points before the time runs out. The most important rule here is not to get greedy, as multiple obstacles can reset your Skill Chain if hit. As such, make sure you bank your Skill Points when you have a high multiplier. Last, but not least, consider drifting around the large dome under construction and take advantage of the mounds surrounding it. |

Despite its size, the Honda City you are driving is a beast, with great handling. To get 3 stars, cut all corners and U-turns. You can even drive on the fields if you want, as long as you don't miss any checkpoints. |
