Forza Horizon 6: Drift Zone Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
There are 20 Drift Zones in Forza Horizon 6, spread across Japan's mountain passes, coastal roads, and city docks — from the sweeping bends of Hakone and the Bandai Azuma Skyline to the tight industrial streets of Tokyo City.
They're one of five PR Stunt types, alongside Speed Traps, Speed Zones, Danger Signs, and Trailblazers, and they test a completely different skill set — raw sideways commitment across every metre of a flagged zone.
How Scoring Works
Each Drift Zone scores you on three variables: angle, speed, and duration.
The multiplier increases exponentially the longer you hold a continuous drift — long, coherent slides are worth far more than a series of short twitches.
Going behind the flags or even lightly kissing a wall is a fatal verdict: the combo resets to zero immediately.
Required points range from 45,000 (Inner City Run — the most accessible) to 340,000 for Hakone Nanamagari — the hardest zone in the game, which the checklist itself flags as notoriously difficult.
Unlock Requirements
Zones unlock progressively through Wristband progression, from Blue through to Gold.
The Gold-locked Meoto Iwa Turn on Legend Island is the final unlock. If a zone isn't visible on your map yet, check your current Wristband tier.
Tips for 3-Starring Drift Zones
- Turn off assists. Disable stability control and traction control — they cut power mid-slide and actively work against a consistent angle.
- Use a manual gearbox. Most zones have a sweet spot around second or third gear that keeps you in the right speed range for sustained scoring.
- Never stop drifting. Any non-drifting time forfeits potential points. On tight sections, zig-zag through the path rather than forcing one long slide that snaps back.
- Use the E-Drift button to push angles further and rack up points faster — it's called out as a specific tip in several of the harder zones in the checklist below.
- Rewind doesn't reset your stunt score. If you spin out or clip a wall, rewind immediately and retry from before the mistake without losing your total.
- Chain skills before entering. A near-miss or speed skill started just before the zone feeds into your multiplier once the drift begins.
Recommended Drift Cars
Three cars cover the majority of the 20 zones: the Lotus Evija Forza Edition (best for the Sotoyama snow zones), the #64 Forsberg Racing Nissan Z Formula Drift (most versatile across the mid-tier zones), and the 1994 Mazda MX-5 Forza Edition (the go-to for Tokyo City and the coastal zones).
