Forza Horizon 6: Speed Trap Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
There are 30 Speed Traps in Forza Horizon 6, scattered across Japan from a tight 90 mph run through Hirosaki Castle's gardens to a 230 mph blast down the Ito Airfield runway.
They're one of five PR Stunt types, alongside Drift Zones, Danger Signs, Speed Zones, and Trailblazers — and the simplest in concept: hit a single speed camera at maximum velocity.
How Scoring Works
A Speed Trap is a single speed camera on the road.
The game measures only your speed at the exact instant you cross that point. Nothing before it matters. Nothing after it matters.
This makes Speed Traps fundamentally different from Speed Zones, which score your average speed over a distance.
For Speed Traps, the only variable that counts is your velocity at the camera itself — which means run-up distance and a clear straight line are everything.
Unlock Requirements
Traps unlock progressively through Wristband progression, from no requirement (River Split, 105 mph) through to Gold (Island Road, 215 mph on Legend Island).
Required speeds range from 90 mph at the accessible end up to 230 mph for the two hardest traps.
Completing them earns Wristband progress, Discover Japan Stamps, credit rewards, and Accolade completion.
Tips for 3-Starring Speed Traps
- Traffic is your biggest enemy. Almost every trap in the checklist below flags "avoid all traffic" as the primary tip. Drop road traffic density in difficulty settings before attempting high-speed runs.
- Use the right car. Most traps are covered by three builds: the Mercedes-AMG ONE for mid-range targets, the Ferrari FXX-K Evo for harder ones, and the Ultima Evolution Coupe 1020 for the 190–230 mph top-end targets. - Give yourself enough run-up. For the highest speed thresholds, you need a long straight approach to build to full speed before the camera. Starting too close is the most common reason for a missed 3-star on a capable car.
- Rewind if traffic appears. If a vehicle spawns in your run-up line, rewind immediately rather than trying to dodge — any contact kills your momentum.
