Forza Horizon 6: Photo Subject Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

There are 26 Photo Subjects in Forza Horizon 6 — landmarks, street murals, and seasonal phenomena scattered across Japan that you need to photograph in Photo Mode to complete the Photography category of your Discover Japan Collection Journal.

Completing all 26 earns you the Toyota Chaser V, one of the most iconic JDM sedans in the game, plus credits at milestone points along the way.

How It Works

When you frame the right subject in Photo Mode and take the shot, the journal entry ticks off automatically — no special interaction needed.

Open Photo Mode with Up on the DPad, point at the subject until it fills your frame, and shoot.

Each completed entry earns Discover Japan Points that feed into your Stamp progression and help unlock Barn Find rumors.

What You’re Looking For

The 26 subjects fall into three groups.

The majority are static and available year-round: iconic landmarks like Tokyo Tower, Kinkaku-ji, Hirosaki Castle, the Peace Torii, Chaser Zero, and the HZN-VI Rocket at Irokawa Space Centre; and street murals by named artists including Kenji Iwasaki, Tatsuro Kiuchi, Lady Aiko, and others tucked on barn walls and hangar sides across the regions. The final five are season-locked, appearing only during specific seasons:

  • Koinobori Fish Flags — Spring only, near Mei's House in Ohtani
  • Water Lanterns — Summer only, at the Peace Torii on the southwestern coast of Shimanoyama
  • Tanabata Streamers — Summer only, at the plaza near Hachikō's statue in central Tokyo City
  • Kite — Summer only, northeast of Horizon Stadium in Shimanoyama
  • Sky Lanterns — Autumn only, at night, northeast of Horizon Stadium in Shimanoyama

If you don't want to wait for the seasonal rotation, you can set the specific season in a custom EventLab event to access season-locked subjects immediately.

All 26 subject locations are pinned on our Forza Horizon 6 Japan map, with exact photography positions and instructions in the checklist below.

For related content, see the Landmarks guide — many Photo Subjects overlap with Landmark discovery locations, so combining both into a single sweep saves significant time.
