Code Vein 2: Key Item Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Code Vein 2 uses a single Key Item inventory slot for a remarkably varied set of objects — shop unlock tokens, VIP passes, dungeon keys, story cocoons, mission delivery items, and levers that spawn stairs or open doors mid-dungeon.
All of them are tracked in MapMaster's Code Vein 2 interactive maps, with over 50 Key Item locations visible before Load more across every map.
Understanding which type you're looking for makes the difference between a short detour and a frustrating search.
What Key Items Are in Code Vein 2
Key Items don't stack and can't be sold. They sit in a dedicated inventory section, and each serves exactly one purpose: unlocking something, progressing a quest, opening a door, or enabling a purchase.
The guide covers six distinct types — Customer Tokens, VIP Passes, story progression items, dungeon keys, mission delivery items, and Levers — all tracked at their exact acquisition points.
The Three Customer Token Types
- General Customer Tokens (01-06+) are purchased from Jadwiga's Minions scattered across The Continent and unlock higher upgrade material tiers at Jadwiga's shop — specifically Tender Crimson Stones and Pure Platinum for weapon and Jail enhancement.
- Special Customer Tokens (01-03) unlock Heart Remnants for purchase — the Bequeathed Formae upgrade materials are only available through the shop after these Tokens are acquired. Token 01 is sold at the train station Minion on The Continent; Token 02 near the Sanatorium; Token 03 at Bureau's Castle.
- Exclusive Customer Tokens (01-03) unlock Tender Light Stones — high-tier weapon refinement materials for endgame builds. All three Token types are sold by specific Jadwiga's Minion positions and must be purchased to activate their respective shop categories.
VIP Passes: Jadwiga's Uncanny Stone Requests
VIP Passes unlock weapons and premium items in Jadwiga's shop. They're rewards from her Request chain — bring her Uncanny Stones in increasing quantities, and she issues progressively higher passes:
- VIP Pass: Iron — 4 Uncanny Stones. Unlocks Hanemukuro and Tyrant's Labrys.
- VIP Pass: Bronze — 8 Uncanny Stones.
- VIP Pass: Silver — 11 Uncanny Stones.
- VIP Pass: Gold — 17 Uncanny Stones.
- VIP Pass: Platinum — 26 Uncanny Stones (in Load more — the final tier).

Story and Mission Key Items
Hero Cocoons (Josée, Lyle, Holly) are the primary story Key Items — each one is a fixed world object tied to the "Slaying the Hero" main quest chains. Hero Josée's Cocoon is at Josée's Outpost; Hero Lyle's Cocoon is at Forward Base One on The Continent. The Chorus Dagger and Engraved Chorus Dagger are specific to the Lyle quest chain, obtained from Craig and from a Pioneer Castle lever sequence, respectively.
Revenant Remnants (I, II, III) are boss drops delivered to Iris at MagMell Hub to complete her three regional Requests. Each drops from an Over-Boosted boss in the Present timeline.
Camilo's Remnants (I, II) are obtained by defeating the Transformed Patient and Transformed Nurse in the late-game Present timeline areas.
Dungeon keys — Bunker Key, Warehouse Key, Basement Passage Key, Key to the Lower Levels — are fixed world pickups or enemy drops that open specific locked doors within Pioneer Castle and Sunken Pylon.
Levers are environmental Key Items that pull to open doors or spawn stairs — the Abandoned Hilltop Church has two levers that must both be pulled to create the staircase needed to progress.
