Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Growing Red Mercury Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Growing Red Mercury is the second XP consumable tier in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — a death-safe item that carries more Red Mercury than the earliest Budding Red Mercury pickups while remaining accessible throughout the late Chapter 1 and early Chapter 2 transition.

It spans the Worship's Rise endgame through Cloudspire, bridging the gap before the mid-tier items take over in Zhenwu Antechamber.

Where Growing Red Mercury Sits in the Tier System

Six Red Mercury consumable tiers run across the full campaign — all protected from death drops in inventory:

• Budding Red Mercury — ~100–400 XP, Chapter 1 opening
• Growing Red Mercury — Chapter 1 late through Chapter 2 early (Lightzen Temple → Cloudspire)
• Glistening, Full-Grown, Flawless Red Mercury — mid-game tiers
• Crystalized Red Mercury — ~2,750 XP, Chapter 3–5

Three Uniquely Hazardous Entries

Hanging corpses at Cloudspire Outskirts — one entry sits on the hill path "under a tree with hanging corpses. Stay alert, as they will fall when you get close." The corpses drop the moment Wuchang passes beneath, dealing impact damage and potentially staggering mid-collection. Sprint through and collect immediately, or bait the drop from range before approaching.

Elevator jump at Mort Grotto — one entry requires active timing: "take the elevator to the upper level, then jump onto the scaffolding while it is moving up." The scaffolding only reaches the pickup level at a specific point in its ascent cycle. Board the elevator, ride it partially up, then jump to the scaffolding at the right moment to reach the wooden platform where the item sits.

Shielded enemy door at Lightzen Temple — one Lightzen Temple entry sits inside a ground-floor house, "the door of which will be destroyed by the large shielded enemy." The heavily shielded soldier's charge attack breaks down the door, creating access. If this enemy was already killed, the door may already be open.

Shaft Entrance — 4 Growing Red Mercury: on the ground where you defeat the palace guard, in the middle of the tunnel between ground-level Spike Traps, in the flooded cave (combo with Purple Camellia ×2), and near the second set of Spike Traps.

Cloudspire Outskirts — 4 Growing Red Mercury: in front of the cages, on the tower second floor, under the hanging corpse tree (hazard), and next to a corpse inside the tunnel.

Lightzen Temple — 3 Growing Red Mercury: near a rock at the top of the stairs, on the ground floor of the shielded-enemy door house, and inside the locked courtyard near a seated enemy.

Mort Grotto — 3 Growing Red Mercury: centre of the upper platform, next to the Elite Demon Soldier, and at the end of the wooden platform reached by the elevator, timing jump.

Cloudspire City — 2 Growing Red Mercury: on a table inside a house, and by the door on the upper floor.

Rebel Camp — 2 Growing Red Mercury: in front of the elevator and in the middle of the courtyard.

Single Growing Red Mercury can be found in Palace Pass (roof crates), Tang Emperor Palace (demolished building ground), Palace Hill (small pagoda stairs), Hillswatch (top of the hill path), Bride's Boudoir (table after ladder by broken wall), Battlefield Pass (next to a battlefield corpse), Avian Marsh (in front of the drop root), Worship's Rise (by the fence near the Jar enemy), and Bandit Cave (in the corrupted pit — approach with Corruption resistance).
