Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Armor Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Armor Sets are the defensive and cosmetic foundation of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers — 52 sets across four equipment slots (Head, Body, Arms, Legs) that determine Bai Wuchang's resistances to physical damage and the supernatural status effects of Shu.
Collecting them all shapes every build, and because many are locked behind NPC questlines that close permanently when Worship's Rise becomes unavailable, timing matters.
Every Armor Set location is marked at exact coordinates on the unique Wuchang: Fallen Feathers interactive maps — 50 hand-drawn originals built by MapMaster's team from scratch, since the game provides no in-game map.
What Armor Does in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
Armor provides offensive mitigation and elemental resistances across four damage types and three environmental hazards specific to Shu: Corruption (the Feathering's most direct threat), Frostbite (dominant in Cloudspire's frozen peaks), and Despair (found in late-game ruined areas and Bo Capital).
Equipping armor with strong resistances to the elements used by upcoming Bosses is consistently the highest-value preparation before major encounters.
Armor cannot be upgraded. Unlike Weapons, no upgrade path exists for armor pieces. Improving Wuchang's defensive stats requires investing in the Impetus Repository skill tree — specifically Endurance (Stamina) and Vitality (Health and Defense). Replacing sets as better options are found is the primary defensive progression loop.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Transmog System
Armor's visual design and its defensive stats are fully independent thanks to the game's transmog system.
Any armor piece's appearance can be applied to any other piece with different stats — meaning players can maintain the aesthetic of the Pirate Set, Bridal Set, or any pre-order exclusive while equipping the highest-stat pieces available. Build for defense; dress for style.
Four Ways to Get Armor in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers
The 46 base-game sets are obtained through four routes:
- Boss Drop Chain — Defeating a major story boss drops a unique item (Copper Jug, Priest's Broken Cane, Seven Treasure Rosary, Ice Crystal, and others). Deliver this to Tao Qing or Wu Gang to unlock that boss's signature armor set for purchase. The boss drop and the merchant unlock are two separate steps — finding the item is not enough.
- Elite Enemy Drops — enemies marked with a purple glow or smoky haze carry unique armor pieces or full sets. These enemies do not respawn once defeated, making each encounter a single opportunity. Many are off the main path and require active exploration.
- NPC Questlines — completing character storylines yields specific sets unavailable elsewhere: Pirate Set — from He Youzai at Doomwillow Beach, after delivering the Lost Package found in Buddha Cliffs
- Zhenwu Set — from Huang Jian'e's full questline, completed at Altar Gate by calling her to help defeat Zhang Xianzhong
- Champion's Set — from Nian Suichang's questline at Ruined Worship's Rise
- Loyalty Set — use the Worship emote in front of the tombstone after defeating Eternal Glory — Zhao Yun at Avian Marsh
- Merchant Purchases — Tao Qing and Wu Gang sell most sets directly after their shops are upgraded. Shu Sanctum holds the largest merchant armor selection in the game — 10+ sets across both merchants.
Pre-Order and Deluxe Edition Armor Sets
Six exclusive sets are not found in the world and cannot be earned through gameplay. All are claimed from the Donation Box at Reverent Temple (ground floor):
- Night Spectre and White Spectre — Pre-Order bonus (any edition)
- Tiger of Fortune — Pre-Order bonus (any edition)
- Soul Ritual Robe, Draconic Resurgence, and Overlord's Regalia — Deluxe Edition only
Missable Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Armor and NG+ Recovery
All NPC questline armor is missable. Worship's Rise closes permanently when the Storyteller is spoken to at Altar Gate in Mt. Zhenwu — any questline armor from that region not yet claimed is gone for the current playthrough.
The Pirate Set, Zhenwu Set, and Militia Set are the most frequently missed as a result. Some "sets" contain only 1 or 2 pieces — not all entries in this guide are full four-piece collections. All armor pieces carry over into New Game Plus and can be recollected there.
