Revenge of the Savage Planet: Hazard Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Hazards in Revenge of the Savage Planet are the 33 scannable dangers and obstacles — toxic gas, lava pools, puzzle walls, and corporate propaganda standees — that form their own Kindex category, all required for 100% completion and the No Stone Unturned quest.

Unlike Flora and Fauna, several Hazards only exist during specific missions or get destroyed as part of story progress, making this the category where scan timing genuinely matters.

Every entry is fully documented on our Revenge of the Savage Planet interactive maps.

Scan Before You Solve

The golden rule of the Hazard Kindex: when a mission tells you to destroy an obstacle, scan it first.

The clearest case is Batterus Lo — the electrified puzzle wall in Caves of Miranyth that must be demolished during the May the Fork Be With You Mission by connecting Fungal Generators to Dormant Fungal Receptors with Ferro Goo.

Instances of this wall are limited across the game, and a destroyed wall can't be scanned.

The same logic applies to Amber (melted with blight bombs, scan once anywhere), Cracked Walls (destroyed via Bomb Fruit), and the Alarmingly Fragile Crystals covering Orange Goo deposits.

Two Mission-Only Hazards at Your Own Habitat

The two most easily missed entries in the category never exist in the open world at all:

  • Gunther Standee — spawns behind the Habitat in Nu Florida only during the A Nastygram From Alta mission, which tasks you with destroying them. Scan one before smashing them all.

  • Unsettling Clone — spawns on the Habitat's porch during the follow-up A(Nother) Nastygram From Alta mission. Same rule: scanner first, violence second.

The Strangest Scan Condition in the Game

Ferrous Petals in The Frangipane Drifts doesn't sit waiting to be scanned — the entry unlocks by luring a Scorpio Puffer next to a Dormant Fungal Receptor and shooting it, triggering the interaction the Kindex wants documented.

Nothing in-game explains this; it's the single most obtuse entry in the category.

Most Hazards Repeat Across Planets — Scan Once

The majority of entries — Toxic Gas, Fragile Floor, Fungal Generator, Blobulous, Plasma Energy Beam, Grapple... Thing (the Kindex's own name for it, ellipsis included) — appear on multiple planets and only need one scan anywhere.

The table notes each hazard's full planet spread, so anything missed on Slarragon Forest can usually be caught later without backtracking.

The Greyed-Out Fix for Stubborn Entries

The Slitherfly Nest is the community's most-reported "scanned but no Kindex entry" hazard — the scanner shows it greyed out with no prompt.

The fix: hold the scan button anyway for a couple of seconds. The entry registers even though the UI suggests nothing is happening. This applies across the whole category.
