Revenge of the Savage Planet: Orange Goo Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Orange Goo in Revenge of the Savage Planet is the closest thing the game has to a leveling system — 103 glowing blobs scattered across all four planets, permanently increasing maximum health and stamina and earning the One More Than Last Time FTW achievement when every last one is eaten.

All 103 locations are displayed on our Revenge of the Savage Planet interactive maps, including the exact gear each one requires.

The Threshold System: You Need All 103

Stats don't increase with every goo eaten. Instead, each level-up requires progressively more goo than the last — the first boost costs a single goo, then two, then three, climbing to six or more per level late on.

Crucially, there is no excess Orange Goo in the game: maxing out health and stamina requires eating all 103. Every skipped goo is a permanent stat loss, which is what turns this from an optional collectible into the game's de facto progression track.

Planet Distribution: 31 + 24 + 24 + 24

Stellaris Prime carries 31 goo — the most of any planet — while Xephyr, Zenethian Rift, and Quasadron IX hold exactly 24 each.

Two regions dominate: Slarragon Forest holds 14, the highest count of any single region in the game, and G'Nortt's High Rise holds 10 — nearly half of Xephyr's entire total.

Notably, Nu Florida — the Habitat's home region — contains zero.

Most Goo Is Gear-Gated

The majority of the 103 sit behind environmental puzzles or tool requirements: amber blocks need the Blight Bomb Stabilizer, metallic Mega Chunks need the Magnetic Fork from Caves of Miranyth, high pillars need the Proton Tether Launcher, underwater goo needs the Franx Underwater Scooter from Chikit's Pools, and several require the Rail Grinder, Goo Ingestor lava trick, or feeding Kiwi Slugs to a Mandragrove Maw.

Others are pinned under Hazards like Alarmingly Fragile Crystals or Blobulous mushrooms. Rather than forcing every goo on the first pass, sweep each region again after major gear unlocks.

The Map Tells You When You Can't — and Rewards You When You Do Anyway

Unreachable goo appears as "unavailable" on the in-game map, signalling a return trip.

But the flags are conservative: skilled jumping can snag several "unavailable" goo early, and the game congratulates you for collecting one without the expected tool — one of Raccoon Logic's better hidden touches.

The full hunt is also tracked by the Alien Ultrafood Mission, which logs per-planet progress toward all 103.

About That Achievement Name

One More Than Last Time FTW is a direct joke at the first game's expense — Journey to the Savage Planet had exactly 100 Orange Goo, so the sequel's 103 is, technically, more than last time.

The achievement pops on the final goo, wherever it happens to be eaten.
