Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight: Combat Trial Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Combat Trials in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight are the 10 timed freeflow combat arenas spread across Gotham's open-world districts — one per district with East End's Amusement Mile holding two.
Each trial tasks Batman with defeating all enemies in the arena within a time limit, earning Bronze, Silver, or Gold based on how fast the last villain drops.
All 10 locations, exact time thresholds, and stud rewards are documented and available to track on our Legacy of the Dark Knight interactive maps.
LEGO Batman Combat Trial Rewards: Three Tiers, One Stud Rate
Every Combat Trial pays out the same stud amounts regardless of difficulty or district:
- Gold — 10,000 Studs
- Silver — 5,000 Studs
- Bronze — 3,000 Studs
The reward gap between completing a trial at Bronze and Gold is 7,000 Studs per run — worth prioritising a Gold attempt over a careless Bronze for any player actively farming currency for Batcave upgrades or vehicle purchases.
Combat Trial Gold Time Thresholds
Gold time windows vary significantly by district. The two tightest are also the earliest available:
- Tricorner — Gold: 1:10
- Old Gotham South — Gold: 1:10
- Newtown — Gold: 1:20
- East End #1 — Gold: 1:30
- Old Gotham North — Gold: 1:30
- East End #2 — Gold: 1:45
- Old Gotham West — Gold: 1:55
- The Cauldron North — Ace Chemicals — Gold: 2:00
- Gotham Village — Robinson Park — Gold: 2:00
- The Cauldron South — Gold: 2:10
Three Achievements Tied to Combat Trials
- "Up for the Challenge" — complete 20 out of 28 total AR Trials (Combat, Driving, and Traversal combined). All 10 Combat Trials alone cover a third of the requirement.
- "Wouldn't wanna make things too easy." — earn 5 Gold Medals across any AR Trials. Cauldron South and Gotham Village have the most generous Gold windows (2:00+), making them the lowest-friction starting points for this achievement.
- "Rebuilding Gotham" — cash in a trial reward at the Batcave computer. Completing any single Combat Trial and redeeming the reward unlocks this immediately.
All Combat Trials Unlock After Dynamic Duo
Every Combat Trial in Gotham becomes available during or after completing the "Dynamic Duo" story chapter — the Robin mission that opens the open-world AR Trial system.
Trials encountered before that chapter cannot be started; their holographic platforms are present but inactive.
