Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight: Vehicle Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Gotham has never had better parking options — Vehicles in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight span 30 base-game rides covering all seven playable characters, from era-specific Batmobiles to police cruisers, character motorcycles, and activity-gated unlocks.
Every vehicle is character-specific: Batman drives his Batmobiles and bikes, Jim Gordon drives GCPD vehicles, Catwoman drives the Kitty Car, and so on.
Unlocking every base-game vehicle earns the "It's not just a car, Alfred." achievement. All vehicle unlock locations can be found and tracked on our Legacy of the Dark Knight interactive maps.
Three Unlock Methods
Story mission automatics — the largest group, awarded at specific story milestones with no Stud cost and no additional action required.
Characters receive their signature vehicle when first unlocked or when their key story chapter is completed.
AR Trial milestones — three vehicles unlock at specific total AR Trial counts, entirely free regardless of medal earned:
- 4 AR Trials → Batpod (Batman) — Old Gotham West
- 8 AR Trials → Batcycle (Batman) — Gotham Village — Robinson Park
- 25 AR Trials → Wingcycle (Nightwing) — Old Gotham South
Complete any mix of Combat, Driving, and Traversal Trials toward these thresholds — medal tier doesn't matter.
Batcave Garage purchases — vehicles bought from the Garage terminal inside The Batcave using Studs, with some requiring additional story or collection milestones before purchase unlocks.
Activity milestones — three vehicles require completing specific open-world activities to a set threshold:
- 6 Escaped Zoo Animals → First Appearance Batmobile (Batman) unlocks for purchase
- All 14 Falcone Fortunes → Kitty Car (Catwoman)
- All 10 Plantlife activities → Catmobile (Catwoman)

- The Batman (Batman) — Tricorner, unlocks automatically on story arrival
- GCPD Cruiser (Gordon) — Tricorner, unlocks automatically on story arrival

- Robincycle (Robin) — The Batcave, on unlocking Robin
- Scooter (Batgirl) — Newtown, after Firefly/Knight at Museum Mission
- Nightcycle (Nightwing) — Gotham Village, after Mr. Freeze/Ice Man Cometh Mission
- Tumbler (Batman) — Old Gotham North, at the start of Chapter 5 (Clown Chaos Mission)
- Motorcycle (Talia) — Old Gotham North, after Tumbler Chase/Rough and Tumble Mission
Batcave Garage Purchases (Available After Chapter One):
- Batman '89 (Batman) — no additional requirement
- Batman & Robin (Batman) — no additional requirement
- Batman '66 (Batman) — no additional requirement
- Batman V Superman (Batman) — no additional requirement
- GCPD Motorcycle (Gordon) — no additional requirement
- Swat Van (Gordon) — no additional requirement
- Motorcycle (Batman) — requires 20 WayneTech Caches collected before purchase unlocks
Two Batcave Vehicle Achievements
- "No, sir. THE OTHER car." — Purchase 3 vehicles from the Batcave Garage. Any three of the confirmed purchasable vehicles (Batman '89, Batman & Robin, Batman '66, Batman V Superman, GCPD Motorcycle, Swat Van, Batman Motorcycle) unlocks this immediately after Chapter One Complete.
- "It's not just a car, Alfred." — Unlock all 30 base game vehicles. The final three are almost certainly the highest-threshold activity unlocks — the Kitty Car (all 14 Falcone Fortunes) and Wingcycle (25 AR Trials) are typically the last two unlocked in any completion run.
