Code Vein 2: Bracer Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

The Defensive Slot in Code Vein 2 determines one thing above everything else: whether you parry, guard, or dodge.

Equip a Bracer, and you're choosing parry — a well-timed counter that deflects the attack and breaks the enemy's stance, leaving them open for a punish.

Equip a Shield, and you guard instead, trading Stamina for damage reduction. Each is a fundamentally different survival approach, and swapping Defensive Formae at any time at a Mistle means you can change your playstyle mid-run.

All confirmed Bracer locations are tracked on MapMaster's Code Vein 2 interactive maps.

What Bracers Do: Parry Mechanics and Ichor Cost

Equip a Bracer in the Defensive Slot, then press L1/LB in combat to parry. A successful parry deflects the incoming attack, breaks the enemy's posture, and creates a punish window.

Parrying costs 2 Ichor per use. If your Ichor is depleted when you land a timed parry, the game still breaks the enemy's stance — but your character takes damage as the cost.

Rapid-fire or unparriable attacks will count as blocks instead: damage is reduced, and you stagger back, but you still spend 2 Ichor per instance and deal no posture damage to the enemy.

Managing Ichor reserves during extended fights matters as much as the timing itself.

Bracers carry their own Burden costs — stat requirements for the Dexterity and Fortitude attributes — that affect how much Ichor each activation draws.

Meeting the requirements keeps the cost at the standard rate; falling short of them doubles the Ichor drain. Every Bracer's Burden value is visible in the Equipment menu before equipping.

Like Blood Codes, Bracers can be mastered through use in combat — extended use gradually improves the effectiveness of that Bracer's defensive type.

The Only Bracer Location

The Mutinous Bracer — the game's earliest and most accessible parry Defensive Forma — is obtained from Jadwiga's Minion outside the training room in the MagMell Hub.

The Minion is in the short hallway just past the weapon upgrade station, near the staircase. It becomes available after returning from Clifftop Cavern and is one of the first items players should collect before pushing further into the Continent.

A Mutinous Bracer (Heavy) variant also exists — heavier stat Burden, higher passive defense — sold by a Jadwiga's Minion near the Upper Prison Area at Insula Carcere. While not included in the following list, it is worth knowing about for late-game defensive builds.
