Borderlands 4 (BL4): Landmark Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Landmarks are the named points of interest that define Borderlands 4's version of Kairos — over 100 distinct locations scattered across all four regions, from Order military bases and Ripper camps to wrecked ships, canyon outposts, research stations, and hidden grottos.

Discovering every Landmark is required for 100% regional completion and contributes to the 197 total map locations that must be found for full exploration trophies and achievements.

Every Landmark's exact position is marked on the interactive BL4 maps.

What Landmarks Are in Borderlands 4

Landmarks are named environmental zones that appear as points of interest on the in-game ECHO-4 map. Unlike collectibles that must be picked up, Landmarks register as discovered simply by being nearby.

Each Landmark is a distinct location with its own name, atmosphere, and content. They range across:

  • Order Military Sites — bases, checkpoints, and installations, including Synthetic Nave, Purge Guard, The Vestal Garrison, and Tempered Manufactorium

  • Ripper Territories — camps, drill sites, and fortified areas, including Tetanus Quad, Racketrun, and Pain Street

  • Wrecked Ships — crash sites and wreckage that double as exploration areas, including Wreck of the Nostalgia, Wreck of the Last Great Hope, Wreck of the Cargonian, Wreck of the Maester, Wreck of the Big Carl, and Wreck of the Seventh Cradle

  • Settlements and Outposts — inhabited areas including Harper's Hideaway, Waterstop, Horace's Oversight, and The Headquarters of the Crimson Resistance

  • Natural and Industrial Landmarks — caves, canyons, factories, and unique terrain features, including Punitive Manufactorium, Claptrap Aeronautics Academy, and The Couch Hole

What Landmarks Contain

Exploration at each Landmark pays off. Every location is dense with:

  • Collectibles: Marcus Bobbleheads and ECHO Logs frequently hide at or near Landmark locations
  • Loot: Red Chests and high-value gear caches concentrated at named sites
  • Quest Givers: NPCs that unlock Side Missions are almost always positioned at Landmark locations
  • Enemies: Named Enemies with dedicated legendary loot pools frequently spawn at specific Landmarks
  • Vault Symbols: Several Vault Symbols are located within or immediately adjacent to named Landmark areas

Mission-Gated Landmarks

Several Landmarks are only accessible during specific Main Missions or Side Missions — they cannot be entered or discovered outside their mission window on a first visit:

  • Riptide Grotto (Coastal Bonescape) — accessible during the Recruitment Drive Main Mission
  • Hollow Nob (The Howl) — accessible during the Savage Salvage Side Mission
  • The Killing Floors (Dissected Plateau) — accessible during A Lot to Process Main Mission
  • The Gunkworks (Ruined Sumplands) — accessible during and after Her Flaming Vision Main Mission

All mission-gated Landmarks remain accessible in free roam after their associated missions are completed. The guide entries for these Landmarks carry the mission prerequisite clearly noted.
