Borderlands 4 (BL4): Vault Fragment Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Vault Fragments are the 9 collectibles that unlock Borderlands 4's three Primordial Vaults — hidden across Kairos in sets of 3 per region, each set combining into the Vault Key that opens that region's Vault Entrance.

Collecting all 9 across all three regions and defeating the Primordial Guardians inside earns permanent Glide Pack upgrades and unlocks the Nothing Left to Guard trophy.

Every fragment's exact location is marked at precise coordinates on the Borderlands 4 game maps, cross-linked to each region's Vault Entrance.

How Vault Fragment Hunting Works

Three approaches work for tracking down fragments — from least to most efficient:

• Order Silo hint (optional but rewarding): Capturing an Order Silo in a region highlights the general search area of a nearby fragment as a yellow circle on the map. Silos are not required — fragments can be found without them — but capturing one also awards 40 SDU tokens and a permanent Fast Travel Station, making each Silo worth capturing regardless of the fragment hint.

• Hot and Cold HUD mechanic: Once inside the highlighted search area, a 4-bar indicator appears in the top-right corner of the HUD. The bars fill progressively as you move closer — 1 bar when distant, 4 bars when immediately adjacent. Navigate by watching the bar count rather than scanning the environment.

• MapMaster interactive coordinates: Every fragment's exact location is marked in the guide below. Navigate directly to the coordinate and use the entry description to identify the specific surface, container, or room without any Silo or HUD navigation required.

After Collecting All 3 Fragments in a Region

Once all three fragments in a region are collected, the Vault Entrance itself is revealed via the same Hot and Cold mechanic — a new search area appears on the map pointing toward the Arch, with the 4-bar HUD indicator guiding the approach.

The Golden Orb Visual Cue

Every Vault Fragment shares a consistent visual tell — golden orbs, golden veins in nearby rock faces, or glowing Eridian energy formations appear in the immediate vicinity.

When the Hot and Cold indicator reaches 4 bars and a golden glow is visible in the environment, the fragment is within reach.

Fadefields — 3 fragments → Arch of Inceptus:

• Coastal Bonescape — on a crate next to a chair in front of a building near Stillshore on the western coast. The Stockroom Order Silo reveals this area.
• The Howl — inside a cave halfway up the hill northeast of The Launchpad, large cave entrance with yellow lights inside. The fragment sits on a stone pillar surrounded by rocks with golden veins.
• Idolator's Noose — inside a hidden room in Rosemary's Reserve reached through a hole covered by a lid. Grapple the lid away to open the entrance. The fragment is in the hand of a corpse next to an idol tank. The Deep Seven Order Silo reveals this area.

Carcadia Burn — 3 fragments → Arch of Radix:

• Lopside — on the dining table on the roof of the gas station by the road. Use the grapple point to reach the roof.
• Ruined Sumplands — next to a large golden orb on the beach. The Judgement's Lapse Order Silo reveals this area.
• Tonnage Peel — inside the Wreck of the Last Great Hope Landmark. Grapple the vent lid blocking a tunnel hole and drop through to reach the secret area.

Terminus Range — 3 fragments → Arch of Origo:

• The Low Leys — pinned on a rock next to golden orbs up on a ledge by the road.
• Windspear — next to the console in the corner of the room inside an Order installation.
• Cuspid Climb — in the back of the cave guarded by Named Enemy Logan. Climb the ledges at the rear of the cave to reach the fragment next to two corpses.
