Borderlands 4 (BL4): Boss Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Borderlands 4, Bosses are major, named enemy encounters you'll have to defeat during the campaign. Defeating them is mandatory to progress the story, unlock new regions on the planet Kairos, and access high-tier loot.


Beyond the initial challenge, these fights are the cornerstone of the endgame loop, as every boss has a dedicated loot pool containing specific Legendary Weapons, Class Mods, and Artifacts that cannot be found anywhere else.


For example, the early-game boss Splashzone is the only source for the Lead Balloon shotgun and Firewerks shield, while the mid-game boss Horace is farmed specifically for the Aegon’s Dream assault rifle and Lucky Clover artifact.


While you are traveling between the Fadefields and Dominion to farm these heavy hitters, you will naturally cross paths with other collectibles.


Here is everything you need to know about boss farming in Borderlands 4:


  • Moxxi’s Big Encore: You no longer need to "save-quit" to farm. After defeating a boss, look for Moxxi’s Big Encore Station outside the arena. You can pay cash (or Eridium for "True" versions) to instantly respawn the boss.
  • Loot Scaling: All boss loot scales with your current level, making it viable to return to early bosses like Idolator Sol once you hit the level cap.


Finding the entrance to side-boss lairs like the Ripper Drill Sites can be tricky. We recommend using our Borderlands 4 interactive maps to find the exact spawn points and fast-travel stations.
