Borderlands 4 (BL4): Fast Travel Station Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Fast Travel Stations are the traversal backbone of Borderlands 4 — the network of teleport points that makes managing the seamless open world of Kairos practical rather than punishing.

Every Fast Travel Station across all 28 areas is tracked at exact coordinates on the interactive game maps, with activation requirements noted per entry.

Fast travel becomes available after completing Main Mission 2: Recruitment Drive — the first Safehouse is unlocked as part of that mission automatically.

Three Types of Fast Travel Stations

Every Fast Travel Station in Borderlands 4 falls into one of three categories, each with a different unlock method:

• Faction Towns — the three major hubs (The Launchpad, Carcadia, and Belton's Bore) unlock automatically through Main Mission progression. No manual activation required.

• Safehouses — 14 total across Kairos. Each requires locating a nearby Datapad before the Command Console can be activated. Datapads are typically placed on rooftops, inside barracks, or tucked into wreckage near the Safehouse entrance — the grapple hook is often needed to reach them. Once the Datapad is found and the console activated, the Safehouse unlocks as a Fast Travel point and awards 40 SDU points.

• Order Silos — 9 total across Kairos. Enemy fortifications that become Fast Travel points after clearing the area and hacking the central Command Console. Hacking also deploys a traversal balloon above the silo and — critically — highlights a nearby Vault Fragment location on the map. Each Order Silo also awards 40 SDU points on activation.

What Fast Travel Stations Offer Beyond Travel

Every activated Safehouse and Order Silo contributes to regional completion and the overall traversal network.

Beyond teleportation, most Safehouses include vending machines, Contract Boards for repeatable bounties, and, in some cases, Lost Loot Machines and respec terminals.

The 40 SDU points per activation across all 23 Safehouses and Order Silos represent a total of 920 SDU points from Fast Travel unlocks alone — a substantial contribution to storage upgrades without spending a single Evocarium token.

In co-op, players can fast travel directly to each other's current location regardless of which Fast Travel Stations are individually unlocked — useful for regrouping after respawning or splitting up across a region.

Two Important Warnings

Fast Traveling drops mission objects. Any heavy item being physically carried — such as Lost Capsules bound for a Safehouse — is dropped the moment fast travel is activated. Always deposit or deliver mission objects before teleporting.

Fast travel is unavailable during active combat. The teleport prompt is disabled while enemies are engaged. The area must be clear before the map travel interface opens.
