Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Cove Upgrade Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Cove Upgrades in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are the 10 construction and restoration projects at Great Inagua — Edward Kenway's Caribbean hideout — that expand Kenway's Fleet capacity, unlock animal materials for purchase, open Jackdaw upgrade tiers, enable passive income, and restore the settlement's four core buildings.

Building all 10 earns the "Governor" (Silver) trophy and unlocks the full range of systems that make Great Inagua the most important location in the game. All Cove Upgrades are fully visible and trackable on Map Master's Great Inagua interactive map.

Build Order and Total Cost

All 10 Cove Upgrades cost a combined 48,100 Reales. The Tavern Restoration at just 100 Reales is the cheapest and most immediately impactful for unlocking all three Minigames at expert level and increasing Royal Convoy spawn rates.

The Harbourmaster upgrades are the most time-sensitive — they unlock Jackdaw upgrade tiers and should be prioritised early to avoid hitting a wall on ship combat progression.

Recommended build order: Tavern Restoration (100R) → Harbourmaster Level 1 (500R) → General Store Level 1 (500R) → Harbourmaster Level 2 (2,500R) → General Store Level 2 (2,500R) → Manor Level 1 (4,000R) → Harbourmaster Level 3 (5,000R) → General Store Level 3 (5,000R) → Manor Level 2 (8,000R) → Manor Level 3 (20,000R).

Manor: Three Levels, Three Fleet Berths, Passive Income

The Manor is the centrepiece of Great Inagua and Edward's primary base of operations.

  • Level 1: Facade (4,000 Reales) — rebuilds the Manor's exterior. Unlocks the Protection Money Box — a passive income source that accumulates Reales over time without any player input. Also adds one new ship berth for Kenway's Fleet, increasing the number of ships that can be deployed simultaneously on missions.

  • Level 2: Tower and Garden (8,000 Reales) — restores the watchtower and grounds. Increases the Maximum Protection Money ceiling so the box holds more before needing to be collected. Adds one more ship berth for Kenway's Fleet.

  • Level 3: Guesthouse (20,000 Reales) — completes the Manor complex. Further increases Maximum Protection Money. Adds the third additional ship berth. Also unlocks the Reuben Ranzo Song Sheet — which appears on the wooden table outside the Guesthouse and cannot be collected before this upgrade is built.

General Store: Three Levels, All Animal Materials

The General Store upgrade system progressively unlocks every animal skin, pelt, and hide for direct Bone-based purchase — eliminating the need to hunt specific animals in the wild.

  • Level 1 (500 Reales) — unlocks Common-tier wildlife for purchase: Crocodile Leather, Deer Hide, Howler Monkey Skin, Iguana Leather, Ocelot Pelt, Wild Pig Hide, and Hammerhead Shark Bone.

  • Level 2 (2,500 Reales) — unlocks Rare Weapons in the store's weapon tab and Rare-tier wildlife: Black Jaguar Pelt, Capuchin Monkey Pelt, Hutia Hide, Jaguar Pelt, Rabbit Pelt, Red Howler Monkey Skin, and White Jaguar Pelt.

  • Level 3 (5,000 Reales) — unlocks Legendary Weapons in the weapon tab and the remaining sea-animal materials: Bull Shark Skin, Great White Shark Bone, Humpback Whale Skin, and Killer Whale Skin. All animal materials are now purchasable using Bones.

Tavern Restoration: 100 Reales, Immediate Impact

Tavern Restoration (100 Reales) — the cheapest Cove Upgrade and one of the most immediately rewarding.

Restoring the Tavern unlocks all three expert-level (3/3 difficulty) Minigame tables — Checkers, Nine-Man Morris, and Fanorona — inside the Great Inagua Tavern.

It also increases the chance for a Royal Convoy to spawn when sailing the Caribbean, making naval raiding more lucrative. Build this first — the cost is trivial, and the benefits are immediate.

Harbourmaster: Three Tiers, Full Jackdaw Access

The Harbourmaster upgrades control over which Jackdaw upgrade tiers are accessible from any Harbourmaster across the entire Caribbean. Without upgrading Great Inagua's Harbourmaster, higher-tier upgrades remain locked regardless of which port Edward visits.

  • Level 1 (500 Reales) — unlocks Jackdaw upgrades up to Tier II across all Caribbean Harbourmasters.
  • Level 2 (2,500 Reales) — unlocks Jackdaw upgrades up to Tier III.
  • Level 3 (5,000 Reales) — unlocks all Jackdaw upgrades with no further tier restrictions. Required for the "Ship This" (Silver) trophy to become possible.
