Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Song Sheet Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
Song Sheets in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are the 28 floating musical pages hidden across the Caribbean — the collectibles that unlock new sea shanties for Edward's crew to sing while the Jackdaw sails.
Every Song Sheet takes flight the moment Edward gets close, launching a parkour chase across rooftops, swamp trees, and dockside ropes before stopping at a fixed point for collection.
All confirmed Song Sheet locations are ready to be tracked on Map Master's Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced interactive maps, alongside tips on how to catch them.
How Song Sheets Work
Song Sheets appear on the map as music note icons after the nearest Viewpoint in the area is synchronised.
Approach the glowing white floating page, and it immediately drifts away along a predetermined path. Follow its direction — trying to cut ahead is slower than tracking the sheet's set route, since it always stops at the same fixed endpoint. Most sheets can be caught within 30 seconds of a smooth chase.
If a sheet escapes, move far enough away from the spawn location and return. The sheet respawns at its original position, and the chase resets with no penalty.
Optimal approach: Map Master's guide entries each specify the correct approach direction for each sheet — approaching from the wrong side often sends the sheet across a harder route with more fall hazards.
The Shanty Player
Once collected, a Song Sheet adds its shanty to the Shanty Player (hold D-Pad while sailing → open the selection wheel → right analog stick to cycle).
The crew sings any selected shanty while sailing on open water. They will not sing during storms — wait for the weather to clear before switching songs.
The Codex (Codex → Song Sheets) tracks which of the 28 have been collected, making it easy to identify gaps without revisiting known locations.
Three Chase Types Across the Caribbean
- Rooftop chases (Havana dominant) — the most common type. Follow the sheet across building rooftops, chimney tops, and balconies without falling to street level. Havana's entries include specific approach direction notes: the Coasts of High Barbary approaches from the east across a rope between buildings; Running Down To Cuba stops above a cart for a Leap of Faith collection; Billy Riley ends on the roof of the Havana Tavern; Bully In The Alley chases across balconies west of the Tavern.
- Nature chases (Nassau swamp, Great Inagua clearing) — follow across tree branches and terrain. Leave Her Johnny at Nassau is the most demanding: "stay above the swamp" at all times — falling to the ground requires returning to the start location. The Wild Goose at Great Inagua ends above a haystack for a small Leap of Faith collection.
- Mixed chases (Salt Key Bank, Cat Island) — shorter chases combining rooftop and ground-level terrain. Fish In The Sea at Salt Key Bank runs above a rope between houses. The Rio Grande at Cat Island chases west from a plantation tree trunk and stops close to the ground.
Two Special Unlock Conditions
So Early In The Morning (Cape Bonavista) — story-gated. Cannot be collected on the first prologue visit. Return after completing "This Tyro Captain" (Sequence 3) when fast travel to Cape Bonavista unlocks.
Reuben Ranzo (Great Inagua) — requires purchasing the Manor Upgrade Level 3: Guesthouse first. Once the Guesthouse is built, the Song Sheet appears on the wooden table outside. This is the only Song Sheet gated behind a Manor upgrade rather than a story quest or exploration unlock.
The Hardest Song Sheet: "The Wellerman" (#28)
The final Song Sheet is not found in the open world. "The Wellerman" is restored at the Treasure Dealer at Great Inagua's docks (available from Sequence 4 after rebuilding his shop) using 10 Yellowed Map Pieces + 100 Aloe.
Yellowed Map Pieces drop exclusively from Schooner Trade missions in Kenway's Fleet — not Piracy missions, not Brig missions, Trade missions only. The drop rate is entirely random.
The same approach used for the Art Piece Brig Piracy grind applies here: conquer all 11 Forts to unlock all five fleet regions, send 5 Schooners simultaneously on Trade missions, make a manual save before accepting fleet reports, and reload if the rewards don't include a Yellowed Map Piece.
Aloe is sometimes obtained from Kenway's Fleet Piracy missions in the southwest region. Once all 10 pieces are collected, bring 100 Aloe to the Treasure Dealer to restore the map.
