Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced: Minigame Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Minigames in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced are the three strategy games played at tables inside Taverns across the Caribbean — Checkers, Nine-Man Morris, and Fanorona — all brand new to the remake.

Every game comes in three difficulty tiers. Winning the 1-star version of each is all that's needed for the "Grandmaster" (Silver) trophy, and all three can be won at specific early-accessible locations to unlock the trophy as efficiently as possible.

Grandmaster Trophy: One Win of Each, 1-Star Sufficient

"Grandmaster" (Silver) — win at each of the three different tavern games. Each game is available at multiple locations across the Caribbean at different difficulty tiers (1-star, 2-star, 3-star).

Winning the 1-star version of each is sufficient — no higher difficulty is required for the trophy.

If the opponent is not present at a table on arrival, buy a drink at the bar. Enemies spawn, and a tavern brawl starts — defeat them to unlock the table. A tutorial appears the first time Edward sits at any of the three game types.

The Three Games and Their Easiest Locations

Checkers — standard draughts rules: move diagonally, capture by jumping over an opponent's piece, reach the far side to be crowned. Easiest 1-star location: Andreas Island Tavern (western side, coordinates 543, 697, Difficulty 1/3).

Nine-Man Morris — place pieces to form mills of three in a row, each mill removing one opponent's piece. Easiest 1-star location: Salt Key Bank Tavern (south-east fishing village, coordinates 467, 605, Difficulty 1/3).

Fanorona — a Malagasy strategy game involving capturing pieces by approach (moving onto an adjacent piece) or withdrawal (moving away from an adjacent piece). The most unfamiliar of the three for most players.

The 1-star version at Crooked Island (Gibara region, coordinates 777, 520, Difficulty 1/3) is manageable after the in-game tutorial. The table provides a tutorial on sitting down. An alternative is the Nassau Fanorona Table (Difficulty 2/3) — harder but reachable earlier in the story.

Early Minigame Tables

Havana Checkers Table — inside the Havana Tavern in the middle of the city. Difficulty 2/3.

Salt Key Bank Nine-Man Morris Table — inside the Salt Key Bank Tavern on the south-eastern side of the fishing village. Difficulty 1/3 — the easiest Nine-Man Morris game in the Caribbean and the recommended stop for the Grandmaster trophy.

Nassau Fanorona Table — on the porch of the Nassau Tavern. Difficulty 2/3. If the table is unavailable, buy a drink at the bar first to trigger the brawl. An alternative to Crooked Island for players who reach Nassau before exploring the Gibara region.

Andreas Island Checkers Table — inside the Andreas Island Tavern on the western side of the island. Difficulty 1/3 — the easiest Checkers game in the Caribbean and the recommended Grandmaster trophy stop.

Great Inagua Checkers Table — in the back of the Great Inagua Tavern on the northern side of the cove. Difficulty 3/3. Requires purchasing the Tavern Restoration Cove Upgrade (100 Reales) before the table is accessible.

Great Inagua Nine-Man Morris Table — central area of Great Inagua. Difficulty 3/3. Requires the Tavern Restoration Cove Upgrade.

Great Inagua Fanorona Table — central area of Great Inagua. Difficulty 3/3. Requires the Tavern Restoration Cove Upgrade.

Great Inagua's three hardest-difficulty tables provide the complete set of all three game types in one location — useful for players who want to practice all three games at maximum difficulty after the Grandmaster trophy is already secured from the easier locations.
