Wuchang: Fallen Feathers: Statue Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Faces of the Past are glowing environmental puzzles — statues, altars, bowls, chalices, and pinwheels scattered across Shu that test whether Wuchang carries the right Gesture at the right moment.

There are 9 tracked across this guide, yielding Jade Pendants, rare consumables, and Madness-clearing interactions. Every Statue location is documented — with the exact Gesture required and step-by-step approach notes — across MapMaster's complete Wuchang: Fallen Feathers area charts.

How Faces of the Past Work: The Blue Word Mechanic

The existing description of these puzzles as "cryptic riddles" overstates the difficulty. Each Face of the Past displays a short line of dialogue when interacted with.

One word or phrase in that dialogue is highlighted in blue — that highlighted text is the exact Gesture name required. No interpretation needed:

  • "[Pay your respects] before the divine statue" = Worship
  • "Look to the horizon to reunite with faces of the past" = Gaze
  • "Master Tai Chi to grasp the Primordial Deity's Wisdom" = Tai Chi

Stand directly in front of the glowing marker, facing it at close range, then open the Gesture panel and perform the highlighted action. If correct, the statue glows, the reward drops to inventory, and Wuchang speaks a voice memory from her past — the audio confirmation that the puzzle triggered successfully.

Two Distinct Statue Types

Gesture-Based Faces of the Past — the primary mechanic. Interact with the glowing marker, identify the highlighted blue word, and perform the matching Gesture. Rewards include Red Mercury Essence, unique consumables, and the Nameless Eye Pendant from the Capital Entrance Chalice.

Divine Gift Offerings — a separate system using the Golden Statues of Shu's deity. Offering a Divine Gift consumable to a Golden Statue instantly clears all accumulated Madness without visiting a Shrine. This is one of only two methods to clear Madness in the field — the other being the Manna Vase. Three Golden Statues accept Divine Gifts: at Worship's Rise (two Golden Statues) and Shu Sanctum.

The Divine Gift Chain

The God of Shu's Statue at Lightzen Temple creates a direct chain: use the Worship Gesture → receive a Divine Gift → carry that Divine Gift to any Golden Statue to clear Madness immediately.

The Qia Ying NPC at Shu Sanctum also provides a Divine Gift via questline — both sources feed into the same Golden Statue offering mechanic.
