Silent Hill f: Document Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Documents are the most trophy-critical collectibles in Silent Hill f — and the most missable. Over 100 documents exist across the game's three playthroughs, but only 37 are directly tied to five major achievements.

All five document trophies are explicitly missable: documents not collected in the correct playthrough are permanently unavailable until the next run, and some only appear on specific puzzle difficulty settings.

Every trophy-relevant Document location is tracked on the free interactive maps, cross-linked to the Key Items required to access the locked or puzzle-gated entries.

Note: This guide covers base-game Documents only. NG+ and NG++ Documents — including all Diary of Revenge entries — are tracked in the NG+ Document locations guide.

Five Document Trophies and What They Require

Five trophies are unlocked by collecting specific named document series. All five require entries spread across multiple playthroughs:

The Truth about the Tsuneki Family — requires collecting all parts of three specific document groups: the Housemaid's Notes (4 parts), the Family Physician's Log (5 parts), and the Strict Mother's Letters (5 parts). These 14 documents reveal the dark history behind the Tsuneki family from three distinct perspectives — the maid's observations, the physician's records, and the mother's correspondence. Several parts are found in the Corridors library and Treasure Hall; the rest span Ebisugaoka and the Main Hall.

Fate of the Apostate — requires all 6 Diary of Revenge entries, found exclusively in Inari-sama boxes and doors in NG+. None are available in the base game — this trophy is impossible to unlock before a second playthrough.

A Miko Possessed — requires all 8 Sakuko's Diary entries. Parts 1, 2, and 3 are in the Worship Hall on the first playthrough; the remaining parts are distributed across NG+ and NG++. The first three are among the most time-sensitive Documents in the game — missing them in Worship Hall on the first pass means waiting for a later playthrough.

Fires of Jealousy — requires all parts of Rinko's Secret Journal (Rinko's Diary). Parts appear across the Worship Hall and later areas, including entries that only become available after specific environmental actions (turning off lamps).

Good Intentions... — requires all Clinical Trial entries. Part 1 is in Ebisugaoka on a first-playthrough sweep; remaining parts are in NG+.

Three Playthroughs, Three Difficulty Settings

The 37 trophy-relevant Documents are distributed across all three required playthroughs. The minimum to unlock all five trophies is three complete runs, not just any three playthroughs — puzzle difficulty must also be changed each time (Story, Hard, Lost in the Fog), because several documents only exist on specific difficulty settings.

These difficulty-specific Documents are puzzle hints for the Puzzles in their respective areas and change based on which difficulty is active.

Missing the correct difficulty setting means the document doesn't exist in that area during that run.

Documents That Require Actions or Keys

Several Documents are not simply picked up from surfaces — they require completing a step first:

Note from Shu — collected automatically after completing the Fog Master chase. No action needed; it's added to inventory by the story.

Local Doctor's Note Part 4 — inside a locked drawer in a second-floor room. Requires the Drawer Key found in the ground-floor office of the same building. Both are on the Ebisugaoka map, cross-linked from each other's entries.

Letter from the Hospital — inside Sakuko's Mailbox, opened with the Key to Sakuko's Mailbox. Both the mailbox and key are marked on the Ebisugaoka map.

Unopened Envelopes 1–4 in Ebisugaoka Middle School — collecting Envelope 1 triggers the Secret Box Puzzle; Envelopes 2, 3, and 4 are rewards for completing its three stages.

Rinko's Secret Journal Part 2, Letter from Rinko Part 2, Crumpled Letter Part 2, Class Observation Log Part 2 in Worship Hall — only appear after turning off specific lamps in the store and adjacent room. The lamps are cross-linked from each document's entry.

Tattered Paper in Corridors — uniquely available across all three playthroughs, but its content changes with each run based on which endings have been reached, providing new lore information each time.
