Mafia: The Old Country: Locked Box Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide
In the world of Mafia: The Old Country, wealth is fairly important. To fund your arsenal and purchase essential Rosary upgrades, you must master the art of breaking and stealing. There are 39 Locked Boxes and 5 Safes scattered across Sicily, each containing the Dinari you need to climb the Torrisi family ranks.
Locked Boxes are small chests found in both story missions and the open world of San Celeste.
- You do not need keys for these boxes. Instead, Enzo uses his signature knife to pry them open.
- Prying a lock significantly reduces your Knife Sharpness. If your blade becomes dull, you lose the ability to perform silent stealth takedowns.
- Always carry a Whetstone or equip the Ingegnoso Bead to speed up the sharpening process after a looting attempt.
Safes are much rarer and offer significantly larger payouts. Unlike boxes, these cannot be forced open with a blade.
- Every safe requires a three-number (six-digit) code.
- Usually, a handwritten Note is hidden in the same room—behind a painting, inside a desk drawer, or on a nearby notice board.
- Safes often contain over 500 Dinari or critical items like the counterfeit printing plates found in Chapter 5.
For the "Salvatore’s Apprentice" trophy/achievement, you must crack a safe without reading the combination Note first. The easiest safe for this trophy is found in the back office of the Torrisi stables. The code is 12-24-04.
Because many of the 39 Locked Boxes are hidden in alleyways or inside residential houses that are only accessible during specific missions, missing them can slow down your progression.
