Beads are the secondary Charm type in Mafia: The Old Country — small golden statuettes that grant Enzo Favara targeted passive bonuses across stealth, combat, looting, and survival.
There are 23 Beads in total: 18 hidden as collectible statues across the story chapters, and 5 available for purchase at Pasquale's Store using Dinari.
All 23 are plotted directly on the in-game Sicily map included in MapMaster's Mafia: The Old Country interactive game hub, with chapter and location notes for every statue.
The Charm system divides into two distinct item classes. Medallions provide major ability modifiers — only one can be equipped at a time. Beads provide smaller, stackable utility bonuses — up to four can be equipped simultaneously once all Bead slots are unlocked.
Both types are equipped and swapped freely from the Charms tab in the pause menu at no cost, with no penalty for switching between missions.
Enzo starts the game with one Bead slot (and the default Wooden Bead, which has no effect). The slot count expands through Rosary upgrades purchased from Pasquale's Store:
Prioritising these upgrades early is the most efficient use of Dinari, as more active Beads multiply the passive benefit of every subsequent Bead found.
Locked Boxes scattered across Sicily are the primary Dinari source — finding them early funds both Rosary upgrades and store Beads.
All 23 Beads fall into four functional categories:
Five Beads are sold exclusively at Pasquale's Store north of San Celeste and do not appear as world statues:
All 18 world Beads are tied to specific story chapters and cannot be collected outside them. Beads are not available during Explore Mode.
Missing a Bead statue during a chapter requires using Chapter Replay from the main menu to return — the game does not allow free backtracking into completed story sections.
Chapter 9 holds the highest single-chapter concentration with 3 world Beads (Perseveranza, Brutale, and Pragmatico). Beads also reset completely at the start of each new playthrough.
Stealth build: Fantasma + Abile + Astuzia — eliminates footstep noise, improves silent takedowns with knives, and expands distraction range. The Silver Rosary, enabling a third slot, is the threshold at which this loadout becomes fully active.
Combat build: Brutale + Destrezza — amplifies ranged damage while cutting reload times across all weapons. Acuto + Paziente stacked on top creates a four-Bead aiming precision loadout for Hard and Old Country difficulty.
