There are 21 Dirt Racing Events in Forza Horizon 6, spread across Japan's roughest terrain — from the ski slopes of Sotoyama and the forests of Takashiro to the bamboo groves of Ito and the coastal roads of Nangan.
Events come in two formats: Scrambles (multi-lap circuits) and Trails (point-to-point routes), and many of them are mixed-surface, blending loose gravel and dirt sections with stretches of tarmac.
Unlike Cross Country Events, which take you completely off-road across open terrain, Dirt Racing Events follow defined routes through Japan's wilder landscape — a meaningful difference for car setup.
They range from the accessible Airfield Trail (no Wristband required) all the way up to the Gold-locked endgame events: The Gauntlet, a 16.7-mile Rally Monsters-only route across multiple regions that takes around 13 minutes to complete, and the Legend Island Trail.
Events unlock progressively through Wristband progression, from no requirement through to Gold.
The variety of restrictions is significant — across the 21 events you'll need builds covering Retro Rally Cars, Modern Rally Cars, Classic Rally Cars, Rally Monsters, Total Rally, Total AWD, Unlimited Off-Road, and the fan-favourite Evo vs Impreza category.
Building a dedicated rally garage before tackling the higher tiers is strongly recommended, and keeping two cars ready at each tier — one for grip, one for mixed terrain — keeps progression clean.
Once you've completed an event for the first time, the Race Customizer unlocks for that race, letting you replay it in any car from your garage with full control over difficulty and settings.
Many Dirt events are deliberately mixed-surface — you'll often start or finish on tarmac before transitioning to loose gravel, dirt trails, and water crossings.
Throttle control and smooth weight transfers matter more than outright speed, especially on the longer trails where tight corners and sudden elevation changes punish overconfidence.
A tuned AWD rally car on off-road tyres with soft suspension is the right foundation across most categories.
All 21 starting locations are marked on our Forza Horizon 6 (FH6) interactive map, with Wristband tiers and full event details in the checklist below.
