Forza Horizon 5 PlayStation: Speed Zone Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Speed Zones in Forza Horizon 5 measure average speed maintained across a marked road section — not the instantaneous peak that a Speed Trap measures at a single beam.

Enter the start beam carrying speed, hold it through every corner and gradient in the zone, and exit the end beam above the 3-star threshold.

All 36 confirmed Speed Zones, including every 3-star target across all three world areas, are included alongside everything else on Map Master's Mexico, Horizon Hot Wheels Park, and Sierra Nueva interactive maps.

Canyon Expedition First: Unlocking PR Stunts

Speed Zones are part of the PR Stunts family alongside Speed Traps, Danger Signs, and Drift Zones.

All unlock after completing the Canyon Expedition (Horizon Rush Outpost), earning the "Adrenaline Rush" Bronze trophy.

Speed Zones vs Speed Traps: The Key Difference

  • Speed Traps — a single camera beam. Drive through it at maximum speed. Peak velocity at one moment is all that matters.

  • Speed Zones — two beams marking a road section. The game calculates your average speed across the entire distance between them. A fast approach followed by hard braking before a corner kills the average. The optimal approach for Speed Zones is a car setup that corners smoothly at high speed rather than one that peaks at maximum velocity — smooth, late-apex cornering with minimal speed loss throughout the section consistently outperforms a faster car that brakes hard.

All 3-Star Targets Across Three Maps

Mexico (26) — Easiest to Hardest:

  • Costa Rocosa / Ranchito / Punto de Vista / Watersplash — 90 MPH / 144.8 km/h
  • Ringroad / Ladera — 95 MPH / 152.9 km/h

  • Punta Allen / Mountain Pass / Cliffside — 135 MPH / 217.3 km/h
  • Carretera / Atlantes de Tula — 150 MPH / 241.4 km/h (hardest in Mexico)

Sierra Nueva (5, all low-speed rally terrain):

  • Crateres Secos / Tierras Verdes — 70 MPH / 112.7 km/h (joint easiest in the whole game)
  • Reservoir View / Devil's Pass — 90 MPH / 144.8 km/h
  • Tres Colinas — 100 MPH / 160.9 km/h

The Hot Wheels Academy Mission: Green Thrill Zone

The Green Thrill Zone mission in the Hot Wheels Academy requires starting from the Hot Wheels Outpost in an S1 class car and completing the Treetops Speed Zone within 1 minute 30 seconds. Reward: Subaru WRX STI ARX Supercar and 100 Hot Wheels Medals.

The Treetops zone's 3-star target is 145 MPH — a well-tuned S1 rally or road car handles the zone comfortably within the time limit.

Living Legend: Every Star Counts

"Living Legend" (Gold) — earn 294 stars from PR Stunts across Mexico. All 26 Mexico Speed Zones contribute up to 3 stars each toward the 294 total.

As with all PR Stunt types, targeting 3 stars across the low-threshold Speed Zones first (Rocky Hills at 70 MPH, El Gancho at 75 MPH) before attempting the harder ones is the most efficient approach.
