Days Gone Remastered: Anarchist Cairn Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Anarchist Cairns in Days Gone Remastered are the approximately 50 small rock stacks left behind by the Anarchist faction across Oregon's wilderness — kicking or shooting down 12 unlocks the "Go Kick Rocks" bronze trophy.

They're the only collectible in the game that carries no XP reward and doesn't count toward your total completion percentage — but the trophy is straightforward, and the cairns blend naturally into scenic locations along cliff edges, river shores, cave entrances, and near Horde locations across the map.

All 50 Anarchist Cairn locations are documented on our Days Gone Remastered Oregon map.

Go Kick Rocks: The Only Trophy These Count Toward

Go Kick Rocks (Bronze) — destroy any 12 Anarchist Cairns. Track progress at any time via Storylines > Trophies > Go Kick Rocks in the main menu.

With approximately 50 cairns across the map, there is no pressure to plan a specific route — just kick over the ones you encounter naturally. Any 12 qualify, in any region, in any order.

Two Ways to Destroy a Cairn

Most guides only mention the Square Button (kick) — but cairns can also be shot from range using any weapon.

This makes them significantly easier to collect when they're perched on a ledge above a dangerous area, over water, or visible from the road without a clean on-foot approach.

A single shot is enough to topple most stacks.

The Fastest Route to 12: The "Just Doing My Job" Mine Cluster

The most efficient single-session approach for the trophy is the late-game Mission "Just Doing My Job" — a side mission that sends Deacon into abandoned mines containing up to 10 Anarchist Cairns in a concentrated area.

If you reach this mission with fewer than 12 cairns destroyed, you can collect the remainder almost entirely within the mines in a single run.

Where They Appear in the Wild

When exploring outside missions, cairns cluster in predictable environments: overlooking cliff edges with valley views, on the shorelines of rivers and lakes, inside caves near the rope railings, at intersections of dirt roads and rail lines, and — most usefully — atop cave entrances where Hordes are nesting.

Spotting a cairn atop a cave is frequently a sign that a Horde is inside.

Nothing Is Missable — With One Nuance

None of the 50 cairns are permanently missable. There are two temporary story checkpoints at the end of the Lost Lake and Crater Lake regions that briefly restrict free-roam, but the full Oregon map reopens after the main story concludes.

The mine cairns behind "Just Doing My Job" only become available during or after that specific side mission — but since the mission itself remains completable at any time, this is a scheduling note rather than a missability concern.

As you sweep areas for cairns, keep an eye out for R.I.P. Sermons to silence and Crier Nests to burn — and check nearby Ambush Camp bunkers for Crafting Recipes that appear on the same routes.
