Days Gone Remastered: Ambush Camp Locations & Interactive Tracking Guide

Ambush Camps in Days Gone Remastered are the 14 fortified human enemy holdouts spread across Oregon's six regions — occupied by either the fanatical Rippers or the opportunistic Marauders, and worth clearing as early as possible for three compounding reasons:

• Each cleared camp adds a safehouse fast travel point (underground bunker with a rest spot, gun locker, and map console).
• Burns through the fog-of-war to automatically mark nearby Historical Markers, NERO Checkpoints, and infestations, and permanently stops the bike ambushes that interrupt free travel in that region.

All 14 Ambush Camp locations are included on our Days Gone Remastered Oregon map.

Two Trophies Run Through Ambush Camps

• Ambush Camp Hunter — clear all 14 Ambush Camps. This is the primary trophy tied to this category and can be completed any time, including post-game.

• Variety is the Spice of Life — craft one of each unique crossbow bolt type. The bunker in every cleared camp contains a Crafting Recipe — many are unique crossbow bolt variants (Standard, Explosive, Incendiary, Napalm, Mine, and more) unavailable anywhere else.

Clearing camps early is the fastest route to assembling the full crossbow recipe set.

Rippers vs Marauders: Know the Difference Before You Enter

Rippers — the cultist faction marked by their distinctive "We Are Many, We Are One" banners.

More aggressive than Marauders, they rush in groups and behave more like a coordinated swarm than typical human enemies. Ripper camps in Belknap (Black Crater), Iron Butte (Wagon Road, Redwood RV Park), and Highway 97 (Aspen Butte, Bare Bay) should be approached with particular care — setting Freakers on them using rocks or explosives is a reliable way to thin numbers before committing to a direct fight.

Marauders — the raider faction operating across Cascade, Belknap (Bear Creek Hot Springs, Belknap Caves), and Lost Lake. More tactically straightforward than Rippers, but often positioned with snipers covering open ground.

The Recommended Approach: Stealth First

Every Ambush Camp can be cleared without firing a conventional weapon.

The Crossbow and melee takedowns leave no noise signature that alerts other camp members, and throwing rocks to draw individual enemies away from the group is consistently the most efficient way to reduce numbers without triggering a full camp alert.

Completing all crossbow bolt kills during Ambush Camp clears also progresses the Variety is the Spice of Life trophy simultaneously.
